Listen To It
In many ways, this album is much more similar to Adam Rupert Fisher's other project All Human than the first Orbs album. Lots of different musical influences are incorporated, and in my opinion, not a single one grates on you. Fisher's brutally honest and fantastical lyrics can rival even Morrissey's acerbic observations when it comes to laugh-out-loud lyrics. I won't ruin the impact of the humour by sharing any of them here, but two tracks (Jaws on Repeat and Exploded Birds) stand out as not only hilarious, but catchy in a surprisingly pervasive way. If you choose to listen to only a couple of tracks to evaluate the album, make it those two. I ultimately came away from it feeling a rather irrational closeness with Fisher, as if I had been working for the Samaritans and he had called up on LSD to share his life story. I think that is a compliment. The musicianship is obviously a very important part of the mix too (more important for me, actually), and it doesn't lack here. Odd time signatures, rhythms and just general musical oddness keeps the tracks punchy and interesting right until the end. The songs range from wistful and melancholy blues-/jazz-like melodies to loud and discordant metal riffs, but most often live in their own special niche somewhere in between. Since first hearing the album, it has been stuck in my head for roughly 60% of the time. The varying styles and careful production make it a very meaty listen with lots to challenge you, if you so desire, and lots to relax you if that's your thing.I can't do anything but simply plead with you to listen to the album. I can find nothing in it to criticise, and though it may just be our honeymoon period, that period has lasted for over a month so far. I will report back should that ever change, but in the meantime, I refer you to my previous two sentences.

My bad I guess
I thought I was buying a cd by the Orb, not Orbs. My bad I guess.
