Can you use the linux universal g code sender?

Yes you can. I also use the CNCjs g-code sender with my Sweety board... if your sender understands GRBL you are good to go.... the Sweety board comes pre-loaded with GRBL on it.

My old board sent 24v to the spindle. This one reads 24v across the terminals but when i actually hook it up, im only getting 7v. Is there a reason?

Bought this to replace faulty woodpecker 3.1 board that came with 3018 model CNC. Initially I had a few issues with laser cutting, but updating the firmware to latest GRBL v1.1h resolved everything. The fan seems to keep stepper controllers cooller than other GRBL controllers I have used. I had to widen the holes to fit existing 3018 mounting but that was simple enough.
