If you are looking for a flashlight you can count on and never question the reliability, then this SureFire is certainly a great way to spend your money. This flashlight is a great option for using either single use or rechargeable batteries, as you can go with either CR123A batteries (disposable or rechargeable) or 16650 batteries. The light has a weather seal and o-ring for keeping batteries dry and the flashlight functioning in wet environments, which makes this light incredibly water resistant. Also, you can easily twist the handle to prevent the light from accidentally engaging in a backpack, purse, pocket, etc., which is a great feature for preservation of batteries. The light is nice and compact for EDC, and it is also very durable and shock resistant. There are many military sectors using this light due to the rugged durability and reliability. There are two light modes for this flashlight, and I love this simplicity that doesn't overcomplicate the features. The low setting is 15 lumens, and the high setting is 600 lumens. I've had absolutely ZERO reliability issues with this light, and I feel safe knowing I have it with me and can count on it to function in an emergency situations. This is a light you can trust and expect to last for many years.

It's a SureFire light so you can buy w/confidence. Their warranty is great. This is my 3rd SureFire light I bought it for a weeklong camping trip in Sequoia National Park (central CA). This little light more than did the job for the entire week on one set of batteries that are still going STRONG. Some other reviewers on Amazon have complained about the Low-Off-High-Off option being first vs High-Off-Low-Off, but I found for my purposes that Low-Off was more than adequate & the High-Off option is easy enough to access w/a couple of quick clicks on the tailcap switch. A word of caution, if you run the light in High mode w/600 lumens of maximum output it will get a little HOT to the touch, nothing too extreme but it is something to be aware of if a kid is using the light. Overall receiving the 4 Extra CR123A Batteries + Battery Case made this a no-brainer purchase for me, if you're on the fence just buy it!!

Initially I was a little disappointed with the brightness, but then read the user manual and realized that you had to click it twice to go from low mode to high mode... now I freaking love it... mounted on my AR-15.

I liked this light so much I got one for myself, brother and B.I.L. It’s super bright, long charge, durable and cheap.

*UPDATE* My new flashlight arrived and I used it extensively over the weekend, and it performed great. The switch works perfectly fine and the workmanship is flawless. Some things I would like to point out on this light (600 lumens) vs the older version (320 lumens). In the picture the tan one is the 600, the black one is the 320 that I've had for about 6 years. The 320 lumen version uses a Nichia 219 l.e.d. which is known for their high CRI (color rendering index) which makes it extremely easy on the eyes and actually appears "brighter" due to being able to see more depth in your surroundings. The 600 lumen version uses a Cree XPL l.e.d which is extremely efficient and a very powerful emitter. The reflector on the 600 lumen version is slightly rougher, lending to a slightly more floody throw compared to the older version. In the picture you can see the slight tint difference between the two, and the slightly more "bronze" natural daylight color of the 320 lumen light. While the output is nice on the new version, I would have liked to see Surefire keep the Nichia l.e.d. and add a slight lumen increase and add a glass lens over the plastic, which is prone to scratching easily. Overall this is a great flashlight and I am now happy with my purchase. *ORIGINAL REVIEW* This is the 4th Surefire product that I have had issues with. This one was dead on arrival, right out of the package. The tailcap had something broken inside of it and it would only flicker when pressed, and sometimes turn on when I wasnt even touching the button. The batteries were not the issue, I tried new ones and the same thing happened. I really hate to bash a company, but i have had nothing but issues with surefire products. Everything from broken reflectors right out of the box, water ingress in rain, green tint, and now d.o.a. switches. I have tons of Streamlight products and never have I had an issue with them. I highly reccomend a Streamlight Polytac over the G2X flashlight any day. The G2X uses plastic lenses and are not IPX rated to keep them protected in water, where the Polytac uses a glass lens and is IPX-7 rated to be submersible for 30 minutes. Also, with Surefire if you want the light to come on in high mode only, you have to buy the tactical version. If you want two modes, you have to purchase the pro version. You're forced to choose one or the other based on what you think you will use the most. The Polytac is programmable where you can have both high/low and high only in the same light by simply programming it. Again, i hate to bash the Surefire but I'm highly dissapointed based on the money I spent. There are way better option available for a lot less money. I requested a replacement for this light, so I will update this as soon as I receive the new one and test it out.
