This is a direct replacement for the VX4s. VX4 is the older model. If your doing a video wall with at least 10 panels or more. Use this.

Can we control this device by external devices? If yes, then how?

Hello, yes, the Novastar VX4S-N can be put on a network and operated remotely as well as, I believe, there is a Crestron protocol that it can work with.
