I just measured. I got large size crew sock for shoe size 6 to 12.5 mens. Looked up how high a crew sock is supposed to go online, says average is 6-8 inches. These come up 17 inches to just under my knee. That isn't even close, and more than twice as high as an average crew length sock. I don't know what these are, but they are not crew socks though they say crew socks on them. I will be returning mine. There is another kind called Athletic Crew which is apparently different than crew. I had bought those in the past and they worked great, but did not realize there was a difference. I will try those and see if they are like my old ones, but these are not it. I did not by "extended version" whatever that means that the other commenter mentioned.

Are these socks tight on the ankle area, leave marks and itch.

These socks are firm on the ankle and do not slip down. I have not found them too tight. They do not itch at all and I have not found any serious marks on my ankles. I wear them with my sneakers and they are actually what I wanted.

If my (men's) shoe size is 11, should i order the l or xl size?

My husband’s shoe size is 14 or 15 depending on shoe and I ordered size 12 to 16 socks. Order what you normally would.
