WOW EVOLUTION!! super fast growth, impressed!
The media could not be loaded. I can’t believe how fast these grow! The eggs hatched fast and we started to see noticeable changes when we would wake up and check on them! Even after work or school, they are larger! We have sea monkeys going at the same time and don’t get me wrong those are cool, but VERY small. These guys start out the size of sea monkey hatchlings and then are almost the size of full grown sea monkeys in 72 hours! Our daughters absolutely loved this kit! They are amazed and excited to see the changes each time they look. I think this really opens their eyes up to how magnificent nature really is, and how it adapts its growth rate based on it's environment.I have already been recommending this kit. I sent another friend to this link and they just got one. I also bought another one for a gift.I was not paid to review, I’m just really happy that this kit is out there for us to try.We are on day 4 and I know they don’t last too long but definitely impressed at the start up already. For a faster start; Just make sure you have spring water ahead of time (we used Poland spring). The spring water needs to be sitting in light for a few days before you add the eggs in the kit. Also you’ll need a light and heat source. We used a LED (no heat) desk light for the light. We also used a heating pad for reptiles and set the tank on top.

Nice kit, but please read directions thoroughly
Overall it's a good kit, so long as you follow the instructions they likely will hatch. We had LOADS hatch, but I didn't read the instructions all the way and did a water change too early, which resulted in all but 2 dying. Those two lived for about a month. They might've lived longer but our dog got into the adult food pellets and I had to guess how much fish food they would need and I suspect I was over feeding them. Toddler liked it, I did all the maintenance besides her occasionally dropping in some food pellets, but not a whole lot of fun because it's such a slow process. I think I got more entertainment out of it than my little one did. Also, once they get big it gets harder to keep the tank clean. I was having to clean the tank every 2-3 days. They were shedding their exoskeletons every other day and the water just kept getting cloudy. Very nice that there's plenty of eggs to try again later, but I think we'll wait a while before we try to hatch another batch, out little one was fairly upset over their passing.

My kids LOVE it
We have seen 6 babies with the one in the picture being the biggest. My 3yo named him Kratos. I had a similar kit when I was a kid and had to share the experience with my littles. So far they absolutely LOVE it!The kit came with the tank, tank lid, pipette, plastic fossil, magnifying glass with ruler, thermometer, 2 eggs with sand, one just eggs, 1 bag of limestone, one bag of baby food and one adult food. We did not receive any gravel like it says on the box so I hope it’s okay. I don’t feel like they have enough sand to hide in and I’m too nervous to put anything foreign in as my youngest son already dropped the plastic fossil in there. The directions feel a little conflicting but our little babies are doing great! It’s definitely worth the purchase if you’re on the fence with buying it. Do your own research for instructions and you should have thriving little three eyed babies!

I bought this kit a few weeks ago and only 4 hatched from the round extra container.
I gave the last shot with the eggs alone container, they give you with the kit . My kids were disappointed. Wish they would send more live eggs instead of sand the 4 children really wanted to observe and enjoy them . I wouldn't have written this review but I felt like it was overpriced and the disappointment in the children made me .

EXPENSIVE for what you get(and do not get)
Instructions in the box are so small you need a magnifyi glass to read them. The instructions given in the product in Amazon ,the included instructions, and the instructions on the carton they arrive in are ALL different. It says you receive gravel, we received NO gravel, and 2 madnifying glasses(Should have been one) , and when the water gets about 4 days old it begins to smell. All of the first ones died 1 day after hatchin even though we went exactly according to the instructions in the kit.We just purchaced more natural spring water and put the second batch in, but I do not have much confidence that we will have anything 6 days from now. The dissapointment to my 7 year old grandson was definitely NOT worth it.

Great success, highly recommend !!
The media could not be loaded. Great success with this kit my boys age 3 and 5 find these guys way more entertaining than the sea monkeys. These guys get huge we have 11 and have had no fatalities or cannibalism though they are voracious eaters. Instructions are clearly written and detailed we had no issues hatching them we used Evian bottled water and no trouble cleaning the tank and refilling with either Evian or Fiji water we’ve used both as they dirty up their water quickly and require frequent water changes. A little more work than the sea monkeys but well worth the effort. I let my boys know going into it that these guys grew rapidly by the trade off was that they had a rather short life span due to their natural habitat being temporary in the wild to lessen the blow when they inevitably pass, and that we’d be able to hatch them all over again as we still had multiple packets of eggs left which were an excellent addition. So far this kit has surpassed my expectations and more importantly made my kids happy my 5 year old has named all 11 how he tells them apart is beyond me. Bottom line read and follow the directions, use the correct water, keep them fed, clean your tank regularly, Watch the temp and provide light and you won’t be disappointed….

Need a better setup to raise Triops for any length of time.
To me, set up was easy. At the 72 hour mark we didn’t think we’d have any from the sand and egg mix, but then there was 3. One was a bit bigger than the other 2. The smallest one was gone the first day, the next day the next one was gone. Over a week the only one left grew like crazy. It lived 3/24/25-4/3/25. Could not keep the water clean, (2 half changes in less than a week.) I may have over fed it, but some say don’t starve them. The tank you get without filtration and air is definitely not suitable to get them to their top lifespan of 90 days. You need to go hardcore with an aquarium setup for them.
