Do these need a resistor or something to connect? or will they work as a direct replacement for a non-led?

Direct replacement . Only thing you need to do is add ground wire for each light . As my non led were self grounded these lights come with + - wire

One comment said that these lights were not weather proof. Are they going to hold up in the weather?

I don't know yet as I just had them installed on my RV, by an RV repair shop along with other weatherproofing . They seam to think they were fine.
