yes you may but with fine crystals, you may have some trouble as it is powder.

Should you turn your aerators when you treat your pond? Or does it matter

I used mine for killing roots in field tiles. For pond use, our sportsman's club puts it around the edges of the one acre ponds and lets it settle, without mixing it in too much. That's where their problems are. I would imagine if your whole pond is a problem, turn the aerators on. Just my opinion.
