This stuff works great. Been using it for years in our pets are litter box. Easy to use and clean. No smell from the litter. Last a really long time. No clumping. Pro:no smell and easy to move around. Soaks up and still seems to work for long periods of time. Comes in 2 bags that are easy to tear open. Common sense item. Good value for the price for the amount of time it lasts.

Makes a huge difference with odor control. The crystal litter really helps keep things dry and cuts down on that typical litter box smell way more than regular litter. Works perfectly with the ScoopFree system—just swap it out and you’re done. Lasts a good amount of time, and the lavender scent is light, not overwhelming. Cleaner, easier, and way less maintenance overall.

I bought this type of litter due to the fact that my youngest cat has a wound on his leg that has taken a ridiculous amount of time to heal. (I’ve already taken him to the vet 3 times, don’t come for me lol). I guessed that regular clay clumping litter was making it difficult for his wound to heal since it basically was another scab he was ripping off time after time. I did extensive research on non-clumping litter and came to the conclusion that silica type would be best. This litter itself can be thought of as expensive but after using it for a week, I honestly feel like this was worth the money. I also want to note, I did not buy their litter box. I have 2 traditional, plain ol litter boxes where this still works great. I have 2 litter boxes because we have 2 cats. One order fills my large litter box with plenty of space. Our second litter box is a bit smaller, and one bag fills that litter box. At Costco I can get 4x the amount of clumping clay litter for $16. BUT with that being said, I need to get this litter every weeks for both cats. Right now, we are at a week of using this litter and it’s already more bang for my buck. Firstly, it does a great job with the smell. I know some reviews say it does nothing, but I find that’s not the case. Mind you, after a cat initially does their business it can be smelly but after? Virtually no smell compared to clay litter. I also clean the litter box every 2/3 days to scoop the poop out and shift the litter. I will say my litter box cleaning time is significantly less now with this litter. With clay clumping litter, I literally had to set aside at least 20 minutes to thoroughly clean both litter boxes. Now with the silica litter, it’s like maybe 10minutes if not a little less. My cats adjusted really well to this litter. I bought it so it wouldn’t cling to my cats wound and in the week we have used it I’ve already seen a significant improvement. I’ve seen others comment about the tracking and will give low feedback for that. Respectfully, the tracking is no where near compared to clay clumping litter. Is there tracking? Yes? A bit. A small amount. And I blame it on my fur babies when they kick it out of the box. I used to have to sweep every other day, now I sweep every few days around their litter box. I call that a win. It’s a little bit expensive compared to clay clumping, but you honestly get more out of one package than you do out of traditional litter. I’m so happy with my purchase that I will continue to use this litter after my baby’s wound has healed. It’s less of a hassle and my cats love it.

Update 6/02/2018 - our cat population has increased threefold since my original review which warrants revision. I used to clean content daily and replace the entire amount every 2 weeks. With multiple cats I still sift the granules daily but now need to replace the 2 bags every week. I also noticed that with multiple cats there tends to be a odor of urine more frequently and the granules no longer bleach out the yellow urine stain. I still find this to be an excellent alternative to clay litters but at $19 per box - containing 2 bags - it is a good deal more expensive. I will continue to use it until a comparable option comes along at a lower price. Great Product. We have only one kitty at present and I had the tray in the shower stall of the guest bedroom, I was having to clean and replace the litter products every other day to control the odor. With these crystals I continue to use my no-frills cat litter pan. These crystals are fantastic and remind me of the ones used to dry flowers. They do the same thing to the feces and absorb the urine with NO SMELL. I just scoop the feces which are all dried up and get rid of them in the garbage. No need to take out any of the crystals even though they have absorbed the urine because there is no smell. I bought the Sensitive crystals as the cat and I have a delicate sense of smell and I was afraid the Lavender or the Original might be too strong. Since the kitty has now accepted the new facility I will try the Original & Lavender later. I did notice a slight discoloration of the white crystals to a pale yellow after use but it soon dissipates. Although the price might seem a little high, given the extended use available with this product & the savings on the weekly purchase of other products I think I am way ahead of the game. This supply will last a long while. Addendum 7/2/2017 Ordered the lavender this time and was pleased that the scent was not over-powering at all and the cat had no hesitation in approaching and using the purple crystals. I like this product so much I have placed it on my Amazon Subscription Order for automatic delivery.

For any of you that are on the fence about this crystal litter, dont be. I have never used crystals before for cat litter. I never thought it was any good. Man was I wrong!!! I mixed 3 large litter boxes with one bag of crystal litter. I mixed it with Fresh Step Non Clumping litter. I dont like the clumping litter. I cant stand it. Its very messy to me. When I tell you, there is no smell. I kept saying that is impossible. I skipped 2 days of scooping. Nope, no smell. I keep one litter box in the bedroom, and at night I can still smell the litter box, or when I come home, the litter box may make the room smell. Nope no smell. I have since scoop the litter boxes 3 times, and there is still no smell. I have tried everything. I use the Carpet Fresh Extra Strength, and I use the Fresh Step blue crystals with it. You can still smell the litter box after a couple of days. Now I did mix the Fresh Step Crystals, with this c and the Fresh Step Non-clumping. It is not litter, it is too make the litter box smell fresh. I have 5 cats, and for once in all my years of having cats, the litter box does not smell. Also very important, my 5 month kitten kept getting litter stuck to his hind legs, and I had to brush it off everyday, with this litter, he no longer have litter stuck to his feet. Yeahhh! I dont know about any other crystal litter. I will stick with this one. You have a customer here. I will put the crystal litter on auto delivery. Thank you

I've finally made the switch to PetSafe ScoopFree crystal litter, and honestly, it’s a total game-changer. I’ll be the first to admit that it’s definitely on the pricier side compared to your standard clay litter, but in my opinion, it is 100% worth the extra cost. The convenience of just swapping out a tray every few weeks instead of daily scooping has saved me so much time and hassle. I'd say the odor control is pretty average—it's not mind-blowing, but it's definitely not dissatisfying either, and it does a solid job of keeping things manageable. Plus, it’s practically dust-free, so I’m not breathing in a cloud of grey smoke every time I refresh the box. If you're tired of the constant maintenance of a traditional box, the price is a small trade-off for the freedom and cleanliness you get back.

While I think it’s a good product the packaging needs improvement. This came with a lot of product missing and the box and bag were both torn as pictured. Please replace this.

As soon as i put it in the litter box I started coughing from the cloud of dust it left behind !! How about the poor cats?? Very bad and not safe for cats

El objetivo es ahorrar dinero, con la comodidad de tener limpio el arenero en todo momento. Con esta bandeja, tendrás que quitar las heces todos los días, o cada dos días. Si tardas más, las heces caerán hacia fuera. El motivo no es que tenga un compartimento de excrementos más pequeño que las desechables. Me explico: En realidad, el tamaño de ambos en longitud es el mismo, ya que viene determinado por la caída de la solapa de la trampa del arenero, que es la solapa donde enganchas el labio con imanes. Además, con esta bandeja, la altura del compartimento es MAYOR que con las desechables, ya que es la propia solapa de plástico del arenero que se levanta y cae cuando llega el rastrillo, y esta solapa tiene más altura que la desechable. En la bandeja desechable, existen dos solapas: La de plástico del arenero, y la de cartón que viene con la bandeja desechable. Esta solapa de cartón, es exactamente de la misma profundidad que la solapa de plástico, y alcanza la misma longitud que ésta, por lo que el tamaño del compartimento de excrementos no puede variar entre la bandeja desechable y la bandeja de plástico (Reutilizable). Por contra, en la de cartón, la solapa al ser plana, teniendo la misma longitud, tiene MENOS altura. Otra característica de la solapa de cartón, es que va unida por todo el canto lateral (Lado corto) de la bandeja de cartón, y cuando llega el rastrillo, y se levanta (Se levanta junto a la solapa de plástico del arenero), al estar unida por todo el canto, las heces no pueden pasar de ahí, REBOTANDO y quedándose almacenadas en el área de excrementos. Por lo que si llevas dos o tres semanas sin quitarlas, se acumularán sin rebosar fuera, ya que la solapa de cartón no lo permitirá. En la bandeja de plástico, al no existir esa solapa, el rastrillo empuja y puede llegar a aplastar las heces contra la solapa de plástico del arenero, y al levantar el arenero puedes encontrar que las heces ahí acumuladas han manchado la solapa del arenero, y, además, caen hacia el suelo ya que no existe esa solapa unida a la bandeja de plástico. Por eso, con esta bandeja de plástico, es conveniente retirar las heces de ahí todos los días, o cada dos días. Ésta es la explicación de que el compartimento de heces no es más pequeño. Pensadlo un poco, y os daréis cuenta. El tamaño del compartimento no viene definido por la bandeja usada, sino por la solapa de plástico del arenero que se levanta cuando viene el rastrillo. - Con la bandeja de cartón, hay dos solapas protectoras de olor: La de cartón plana que sirve de tope para las heces, y la de plástico del arenero que nunca llegará a tocar las heces. - Con la bandeja de plástico, no existe esa solapa plana, siendo sólo la solapa del arenero la que protege del olor, y que puede mancharse con las heces si no retiras las heces con frecuencia. Tengo dos soluciones que probaré: 1. Cortar la solapa de cartón y adherirla a la bandeja de plástico, de forma que se pueda unir a los imanes de la solapa de plástico, y funcione igual que en las bandejas desechables. 2. Adquirir una bandeja de arena transparente, que he visto que viene con bandejas de cartón de mala calidad, y que esta solapa viene separada de la bandeja y se una a ésta por unas tiras de velcro. Así, tendría ya la solapa en el tamaño correcto para adherirla a la bandeja de plástico por el lado corto, de forma similar a como se une en las bandejas de cartón. Dicho esto, está claro que si no te gusta manipular las heces de tus gatos, tienes dos soluciones: 1. La primera solución es usar las bandejas desechables, más caras y más cómodas. Los lujos se pagan caro. Si tienes dinero para una bandeja automática, seguro que tienes dinero para pagar estos accesorios desechables lujosos. 2. La segunda solución es no tener gatos. Quizás no debas tenerlos, si no eres capaz de cuidarlos como es debido, de ver sus heces, el color y olor de su orina, y si ves o hueles algo fuera de lo común, llevarlo al veterinario porque quizás tenga un problema de salud. Yo soy de la tercera solución: Comodidad para tener el arenero limpio durante todo el día, pero estar pendiente de lo que sucede con mi gata. Otro objetivo del arenero ScoopFree es poder estar varios días sin atenderlo, por ejemplo, cuando me voy de viaje. Imagino que éste es el objetivo principal de los clientes cuando compran este arenero. Mientras no solucione el problema de la solapa, cuando tenga que ausentarme más de dos noches, utilizaré una bandeja de cartón (Desechable). La de origen la usé solamente durante una semana, hasta que me llegó la bandeja de plástico. Ahora, la tengo limpia, y guardada. Con esta bandeja de cartón, el control de olores y de rebosamiento de las heces, se logra con la solapa de cartón plana que trae incorporada. Es fácil trasladar los cristales de la bandeja de plástico a la bandeja de cartón. Después de regresar, restauraré los cristales a la bandeja de plástico, y limpiaré la bandeja de cartón para un próximo uso. Así, conservo la calidad de la bandeja de cartón por mucho tiempo. Mientras no me vaya de viaje, ahorraré dinero con la bandeja de plástico, retirando las heces a diario, removiendo los cristales para que iguale la absorción entre ellos, y verificando la salud de mi gata, según el tamaño, y calidad, de sus excrementos. Y a la vez, disfrutaré de ver cómo mi gata tiene en todo momento su arenero limpio de excrementos. Conclusión: No compres esta bandeja si no te gusta manipular las heces. He leído comentarios que dicen "Pongo una estrella porque con esta bandeja tengo que limpiarla, y es lo contrario a la filosofía de ScoopFree, volveré a las desechables porque no soporto limpiar una bandeja maloliente". Pero hija mía de Dios, si eso ya lo sabías cuando comprabas esta bandeja: Hay que limpiarla, y por cierto, es fácil de limpiar. Pero si tanto te va a molestar cuidar de tus gatos... ¡No la compres! Si quieres estar todo el día libre, sin polvo de arena aglomerante en casa, y sin tener que bajar todos los días la pesada bolsa de basura con la arena aglomerada utilizada por el pipí y las cacas de tu gato... Ya que sólo tirarás a diario la caca sin más... Y no te importa retirarla cada día con una pala... ¡Ésta es tu bandeja!

Very good litter.Its a bit expensive but worth the money.Bags are small and my tray is big and needs 2 bags ,and works out expensive for the week but it is very good litter and eradicates the smell.
