Caught four spotted lanternfly nymphs in one day
There aren’t any sprays that work for spotted lantern flies so the sticky tape made the most sense to try. The adhesion doesn’t seem that sticky except that it sticks to your fingers. So I had a little trouble wrapping it around, but I wrapped it a few times. I did notice that ants would go up to it touch it and then go around, so I wasn’t very hopeful. In the morning when I looked, I caught two spotted lanternfly nymphs and around two dozen flies. I’m guessing that’s because they landed right on the tape rather than trying to walk over it. I was surprised that the lantern fly nymphs couldn’t escape, because as I mentioned, it didn’t seem that sticky to me. Whether it’ll work for an adult spotted lantern fly is yet to be seen. I went out for the day and came back and found two more nymphs caught and some more flies. So far it works great. It did rain hard so I will have to replace, but they do give you plenty.

Effective
I've used this before, easy to put on and very effective at keeping the ants etc off my peaches

Works great, could stick better.
Kind of a pain to put on, but works really well. Already catching ants & aphids! Also small spiders that like to build webs in the branches. I might switch to the catchmaster gel adhesive to wrap the tree with saran wrap & have more of an application.

Where do I start?
I thought this product would be a godsend for my garden BUT...As I read in the numerous 1 & 2 star reviews, after experiencing the product myself, I am not the only one to find this product to be inferior and very frustrating. It sticks very well (and unavoidably) to your hands but, doesn't want to stick to itself as you attempt to affix it to a tree trunk. The backing paper is so thin that it tears easily, meaning you have to scrap that piece and try again. Once you do get it around the trunk, some quickly unwrapped partially or completely and fell to the ground. Found some undone the next morning. A couple have managed to remain at least partially around my small dwarf fruit tree trunks but, most have fallen off. I also found a small bird's wing and a small bird's leg firmly stuck to strips that had fallen to the ground. VERY SAD! And, the strips do not conform to even a smooth fruit tree trunk and leave gaps underneath the strips, allowing ants and pincher bugs to crawl under and avoid the glue. I threw away more than I got to stick to the trees and was definitely in a less than cheerful mood after attempting to use this product.

Kills Spotted Lanternfly Nymphs by the Thousands
These simple adhesive strips are a bit difficult to install on my maple tree because it's so big in diameter, and because the bark is quite uneven. But once attached with push pins (or roofing nails) the product is proving extremely effective at catching Spotted Lanternfly Nymphs as they make their way back up the trunk. I attached several parallel bands so that any nymhps that don't get caught in the first band might get stuck in the 2nd or 3rd. So far so good! After a band is full, I roll it up on itself, suffocate the nymhps in water with Dawn dish soap in it (so that they don't further spread once disposed of) and then wrap them in a sealed plastic bag to discard. It'll be interesting to see how many adult SLFs these catch. Great product- cheap, effective. So far no birds or squirrels have been caught.

Okay but Messy
Catches some bugs, but the glue isn’t super strong and gets messy. Works for light use, not heavy infestations.

May catch more than insects
We bought this tape for lantern flies and ended up catching a small bird. Luckily we were able to pull the bird off with some gloves but a lot of his wing feathers stuck to the tape. Also noticed that something chewed the edge of the tape and now thinking that could’ve been a squirrel or other small animal. Maybe we should reduce the width to avoid catching small creatures! Otherwise the tape works well for lantern flies either by catching them or keeping them below the tape so we can take care of them.

So it gets lattern flies but..
Looks like crap kinda lol but it works, rained twice in last few days here and still sticky. One issue is it traps everything had to save a baby praying mantis. But gets more crap bugs, lots of flies, mosquitos and some beetles but more lattern flies. Spraying ortho home defense seems to kill some as well I sprayed above the sticky traps and although not instant over a day or 2 I found about 15 dead ones on the ground around the tree.. some maybe spray the highest part you can get to and then use the sticky tape. Be mindful of the wind because I got a face full of spray no paying attention so pretty sure I will have face cancer now at some point lol... recommend a buy here
