Great for Arduino-based *loud* custom siren sound! (UPDATE: this is a 15W~20W speaker, not 60W or 120W!)
UPDATE, 2 OCT 2017: These speakers are only capable of 15~20 Watts of continuous power draw, *not* 60W. I put a power meter on them and drove them with a square wave variable-frequency siren sound centered at 635 Hz and measured the power draw when driving *2* speakers (with a ~12V 3S LiPo battery) in single-drive mode to be 18W (9W/speaker). When I doubled the driving voltage (actually by dual-driving the coil with the same voltage), they started smelling like the clear-coating on the magnet wire around the coil was burning off--you know, a chemically melted-plastic-like smell after about 30 sec at full power. I measured the power draw this time to be 55W when driving *2* speakers (27.5W/speaker). Anyway, I think they'll do 50W/speaker but I wouldn't hold it there for longer than a couple seconds, and even 27.5W continuous power draw per speaker will fry it it seems, based on the smell, in just a couple minutes. I'd keep continuous average power draw to around 15W~20W or less per speaker. ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM 2 MAR 2016: Great for Arduino! I used it to make a custom siren sound and it works awesome! I'm dual driving it with an Arduino Nano, via the toneAC library and a custom home-built 15~20A H-bridge. To prevent DC bias in the speaker I have a 4700uF 25V bipolar AC coupling capacitor between one of the H-bridge outputs and one of the speaker wires. I made this 4700uF 25V *bipolar* capacitor from 6 parts: namely, 2 parallel sets of back-to-back (neg to neg) 4700uF 25V polarized aluminum electrolytic caps in series. I then placed 1A Schottky diodes from the negative capacitor leads to the left and right outer (+) capacitor leads. In this way I made my own 4700uF 25V bipolar (non-polarized) cap from 4 4700uF 25V polarized caps and 2 Schottky diodes. To see the speaker playing the custom siren sound see my website article (at ElectricRCAircraftGuy) by googling the phrase "One of my current projects: Arduino police siren w/simple, custom transistor amplifier/speaker driver circuit". ~Gabriel ElectricRCAircraftGuy com

They Flux
If youโre a super audiophile and these are for your daily, then maybe spend a little extra. My case they were for my second car / Lyft car. I have high Standards for audio quality though. These wonโt blow your mind, theyโre basic standard issue speakers. But they will be better than blown speakers (my situation) and better than any factory paper cone speakers. Theyโre low wattage all they work great with a factory radio / head unit. These are very clean, fit perfectly and just good all around speakers. You better better base with these vs coaxial speakers in most cases, but the trade off is they wonโt have the mids and highs a coaxial speaker has. Overall these are great. Simple and clean upgrade with a noticeable improvement vs most factory speakers. Fits the bill. You canโt be disappointed at this price point.

Of all the speakers out there, these are some of them.
They sure do speak, I tell you what. These won't blow you away. I needed some cheap speakers to just have a functioning audio system in my 1997 Honda Prelude. It'll sound like an OEM system from the late 90s, and you'll be totally okay with that. And while you're not blowing out windows 3 blocks down, they do a decent job of producing decent sound for a pretty decent price. Fitment in my Prelude isn't perfect as it does interfere just a little with the trunk torsion rods, but I got them in with a little extra effort. They look like OEM speakers. They sound like OEM speakers. Don't take these to a contest, but definitely open the sunroof with them.

I PURCHASED 5 BOSS AUDIO ITEMS
This review includes the BOSS Audio - BRS 6x9 speakers, BOSS AVA6200 speakers, and the BOSS Audio 616UAB multimedia player. I have purchased other very elaborate, and expensive car audio systems, and either they did not last long, or I was disappointed in some other way. But the multimedia player I mentioned made me BOSS Audio fan. It is very reliable, tough, long lasting, and has excellent sound quality. I built, and completely modified a 2015 Toyota Tacoma inside out, and from the ground up. The same above mentioned BOSS Audio speakers, and media player is what is in my build. The sound is very strong, clear, and excellent. I do not play my music to deafening level, but at a moderate volume. I am very picky to sound, and simplicity. I do not get involved with subwoofer competitions, while sagging my pants, and picking my nose. I just wanted excellent sound.

Good for what they are
I have a 2001 Handa Civic Coupe that was used as daily transportation. The factory speakers finally gave out after years of usage. Those speakers were not audio file quality so i just wanted a basic replacement speaker to replace the torn rear speaker with. These speakers filled that need adequately. They do not over power the fronts and kept me from needed to replace 4 speakers instead of just the 2 rears. While only one rear speaker in the car was damaged I felt it better to go with a matching set instead of 1 new speaker paired off with an 11 year old one. The labor was difficult but that was in the way the original speakers are installed and not reflective of the replacement one. Now that the installation is completed there is no audible difference in sound quality. That is nether a positive or negative mark on the Boss speaker. In short if you need a "factory" replacement speaker and have the expectation of factory sound then these will meet that need. If you are looking to a step up in sound quality then look beyond these speakers.

GREAT BUY FOR THE PRICE
OK, I'll try to keep this short.... So I just installed this product in the rear of my coup and I just got to say they look good even with out hearing the sound the make. Its very easy to install took me less then 30 min. to wire them up. After testing them, they have such great sound output for the price I can't believe I got 2 pairs for less then 20 bucks(yes you need to buy 2 of them they are sold one speaker each), but its worth the money. I plan to hook an amp to them in the near future and they might even be better then they are now. --Updated 9/17/2013-- Product still works great no problem Great Buy!

Exceeds expectations
These speakers exceeded my expectations. They are well made and can handle ample amounts of bass which is where I can usually tell a good speaker from a bad one. They are priced well for this type of speaker.

Great replacement for stock door speakers 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with Infinity sound system
These inexpensive speakers were perfect for replacing my stock 6x9 door speakers in my 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with Infinity sound system. I peeled the spacer off of the stock speakers and used them as a spacer for these speakers. They easily cleared the window gear with the window down. They sound nice and clear and low/mid/ and at a reasonably high volume. Obviously these aren't meant to blast at full volume or with lots of bass but they are good enough for what I need!! This item is for a single speaker so make sure you buy 2!

Speaker is fine but very quiet as mentioned in other reviews
Bought for ram 1500 2002 with infinity system. Speaker is fine but very quiet as mentioned in other reviews. nowhere have I seen mentioned that the connection won't match. So I'll say it here. Just harvest the connection from the old speaker to use on this one. Not hard to BS it and make it work. As for the spacer there are lots of videos on YouTube on how to adjust it to work.
