Exactly what I was looking for

So I really like this product. Works great there is just really one problem I have with this product and that is that the ice is pretty hard to remove from the "mold." Pretty easy to use otherwise

I picked these up for my husband as a fun gift! My kids love them and ask to have an ice ball in their cups as well. My 6 yr old can fill them and get the ice ball out without help.

I'm making about 100 of these for an upcoming party. The product works fairly well, but there are a few things to understand.1) You WILL NOT get a crystal clear sphere because when ice freezes air gets trapped in the center of the ice and occludes visibility. You can jump through a bunch of steps so you do get clear ice but they are actually reasonably difficult. Just using distilled water won't do the trick.2) Some spheres will break along the diameter where the molds sit together. That is just the way it is because !SCIENCIE!. That happens fairly infrequently and is a pain, but not horrific.3) Getting the spheres out of the mold can be a PITA.4) The ice takes a long time to freeze because the silicon mold is actually insulating the water so it stays warmer longer. You can greatly reduce the time to freeze by putting a large glass of water in the fridge for a few hours beforehand and fill the molds with that water which shold be around 37 degrees F. I can get at MAX 3 rotations per day if I don't use the water trick, 4 if I use the trick.5) Over time you the molds will gradually warp and you'll lose one or two to use. It sucks, but it's life.In summary, it does the job moderately well. Worth the money, but it has drawbacks.

We found the ice ball itself is great. Fun little toy for drinks. It is a little hard to get the bottom half of the mold off ice. We dry completely to fill so no water in the seam and it still tends to pop open and freeze a little ice-ridge around it. We found it best to fill it all the way, then give just a little squeeze with your thumb to the top half to squirt out a little extra water, so there's room to expand. There's a little less bursting/seam that way.I know we should have thought of it, but the DeathStar texture is on the outside. So... as soon as it starts melting at all you really just have a nice round ice-ball for your drink. But! When taking it out, or showing kids, etc., it's cool shape.

Made soaps with these and they were a huge hit!

These work well. A little hard to open but no leaks so far and make a nice cube

I love these ice molds. They're a little difficult to fill at first but these are my favorite ice cubes. We have a set of sphere ice molds from Sharper Image but in my opinion, these are easier to fill and release from the molds. Plus, it's nice to have the option of only using one cube without disrupting a second. We've given a few of these away as gifts and the recipients have also been very pleased. The Death Star markings are very faint so it does not add much additional surface area to the sphere (which would defeat the purpose of having a large spherical "cube" of ice).
