Mars Hydro FC-E4800 480W 4x4 LED Grow Light Full Spectrum Veg Bloom Flower

It’s been an amazing light. Perfect for veg. Heat is so so but they give you enough wire to run it outside of your tent pretty nicely 10/10 for that. Best value I found at the time for the power and a company I like now. Been running it for months hard with no problems. Have it hooked up to a Vivosun controller and it’s buttery and a much better option than stock. My cannabis plants love this thing in a 5x5 🫪 ❤️

The light seems very sturdy and well made. The only issue I had was the dimmer. Always seems to be such a cheap switch on otherwise great lights from Mars Hydro. First light had to be exchanged for one that worked. Amazon made it right quickly though with a replacement light sent immediately. Have had this issue before on different model lights from the same manufacturer. The new driver and dimmer worked beautifully and the light can go from 0 to 100% power. Do love the low heat output, especially with the driver mounted up high in the exhaust fan air stream. Getting well over 1000 par readings at 10 inches from the canopy. Buds responded well to the new light. Looking forward to using on a full run seed to flower. Ill update the review in a few months after and show the results. Coverage is perfect for my 4x4 closet. Also, do make sure to alternate between A and B bars when assembling the light. They only have one UV led diode per bar. A and B bars have them at opposite ends for even coverage. Update #1 Light has done great in veg. Had an unexpected autoflower in the bunch as well. It’s blooming nice and dense under the light at 75% power and 18 inches below. I added a picture of the veg setup. Will give one more update after flowering. So far still absolutely a 5 star light. Last Update This light has preformed absolutely beautifully. Clones grow vigorously and buds speak for themselves. Recommend this light to anyone interested.

I purchased my first FC-E4800 in 2021, it has been an outstanding light and continues to operate just as well as it did when I bought it, so I got 2 more! The power rating has been consistent throughout all 3 lights, I'll include a picture of my energy meter, but two of the lights are pushing 973 watts. I haven't had burnt out Diodes, and the dimmer is variable so I get to set my power exactly where I want it, other high end lights have steps in power. I haven't had issues with any cords coming loose, and there hasn't been any defects to the workmanship of the 3 I have. Below are some of the updates to the FC-E series lights I have noticed. They did change the dimmer box, it is still built with a variable dial, and they changed it from two buttons to one, but the function is The same The driver support brackets were changed from metal to plastic, mostly to reduce the cost of manufacturing in turn making cost-effective products for customers. From my experience it protects the heatsinks on the lights when the brackets are installed, and if you need to shift the position of the driver or remove it. The output wire was changed from 4 cores to 2 cores to reduce the probability of poor contact and with the change in the dimmer box, the extra wires were unnecessary. the price has also been reduced a lot, I paid over 570 dollars on my first one. Customer Service: Mars Hydro has unparalleled customer service, when I first noticed changes to the lights, they assisted me through everything! They honor their warranty on their lights and they ship very quickly with the lights arriving 2-3 days, they have US based warehouses. I highly recommend this light manufacturer, 5 stars!

I've had the light 4 days and still can't figure out the app; especially how to set up scenes. The sunrise/sunset function is nice but intensity can't be limited. At 100% a 4 x 4 tent heats up quickly even with the driver mounted outside. So I spent the last 4 days trying to get scenes working but when I set different times with different intensities, the light shuts off instead of increasing intensity. No help can be found on the internet. Anyone know scenes? 10/27/23 UPDATE: After buying this light I bought an Ifresh Inline Fan (DF150-M) directly from MARS HYDRO's website and had software issues adding it to my App. MARS HYDRO support was absolutely awesome helping investigate the fan issue which resolved. So I asked for help with setting up SCENES on this light and was provided a link to a very helpful video. After following that video and setting it up, that is when I encountered the software problem (see previous review) and that is where this got weird. MARS HYDRO asked for my sells receipt and a screenshot of my TIMEZONE setting. I provided bought and promptly received an email telling me that I had to work with Amazon to resolve the problem because I bought this through Amazon. Next day I get another email from MARS HYDRO asking for a bunch more information about my problem with SCENES. So which is it? Never heard from Amazon after MARS HYDRO forwarded my emails directly to their contact at Amazon. I don't care anymore. I've been using the SUNRISE/SUNSET mode and invested in more air conditioning. Problem NOT SOLVED but no longer an issue that I need to spend anymore of my time troubleshooting. I'm leaving my review at 4 because I really like the light! Not so much the software or confusing help.

This light is awesome. It fits perfectly in a 3x3 and provides very even coverage thoughout the tent. I'm a few weeks away from my first harvest with this light and my plants have not seemed to ask for any more than 75% brightness during flower. The light bars get a bit toasty when the brightness is raised up, and the ballast does get hot. The ballast being removable is very handy because of this. The hottest my tent has been with this light on is 80F, while my home was 74F. It's worth mentioning that AC Infinity's adapters DO NOT work with this this lamp very well, despite being listed as a supported model. My light would randomly turn on at night, so I just stuck it back on a timed outlet to be safe. Mars Hydro's app may work better, but judging by the 1.Something star reviews for it, I sort of doubt it. Don't let that or a lack of Samsung LEDs dissuade you from buying this lamp, especially if it's on sale. I paid about $400 and received a heat mat as well. It's currently on sale for $373 for Black Friday at the time of writing this. In my opinion, it's the best bang for your buck, especially in a 3x3.

I left my original review below in parentheses for context, after my initial poor review the seller contacted me very quickly and we emailed a couple times back-and-forth all within 24 hours I was provided with all the information I needed, very pleased with the service from the seller. *original review* (The light seems high quality, and is very bright for the wattage. My review is based on the fact that there is almost no information about operation and assembly. The assembly instructions for this 600$ light that comes in 12 main pieces with about 35-40 small parts are one side of one page (4 pictures really) and dont include any information or pictures of how to attatch the wire hangers. (Included photo) Thats all you get. I got more instructions with a 40 dollar Lego set. I had to search YouTube for a how-to video from another consumer. They list hanging height for diff stages but not intensity, and theres no par map! Am I supposed to blast little seedlings at full power only 6 inches further than when they are in full veg stage? I was excited about the versatility of the dimmer and innovative adjustable bars, but it will be difficult for me to get the full potential of the light or my plants with no information. For such a technologically advanced and versatile light the manual is stone age.)

Best and brightest home led grow light I’ve used so far. No timer built in but if has a dimmer switch and dial, it’s alittle heavy but single person can lift it for install, gets warm but nothing a fan can’t fix, has worked well for multiple runs, definitely worth the money

I absolutely love this light. I have it set up in a 3 x 3 tent. It's so easy to set up and it feels like a high end top quality light If there's ever a value for money light it's this one. And you just can not go wrong with A Mars Hydro product. I have always used their lights and tents and they are by far best quality for your money. Great customer care and next day delivery. I love it and highly recommend this to any home grower

Upgraded my 4x4 from a TSW 2000 to an FC-E4800 and moved the TSW 2000 in a 3x3, had side by side comparison for 3-4 weeks and i can tell you the 2000 performed as good as the fc-e 4800!? The light worked great but just couldn't see a noticeable difference. So...I got a more expensive FC 4800 (OG model with Samsung lm301b) despite beeing the older model and returned the cheaper FC-E model with Bridgelux chips. The FC 4800 was a warehouse deal, had a slight defect but nothing major, originally wanted to return/exchange it so i was thrilled when i found a smoking deal on a brand new unit (fc 4800). Ordered it got here quick but...not the same light bars anymore. As you can see on the pictures the one on the right is the OG fc 4800 unit, the one on the left has the FC-E light bars on it with the Bridgelux led's. They were fixed, not adjustable ( as expected) and came with a Moso driver, the OG warehouse deal came with an Inventronics driver. I decided to keep my slightly defective light and returned the new 'fake' one. Amazon reimbursed me the difference in price of the two! Awesome customer service on their part. Next is an update on the TSW 2000. Worked great for 2 and half months then suddenly.... I'm standing in front of the tent and i can see flashes through the zipper?!? This one baffles me a great deal, the light was flickering in and out full power and it's switched off!! Wth is going on here? Usually light is plugged in the timer so wouldn't happen when everything was live but if your turning your lights on and off manually it's definitely an issue not to mention the potential risks involved with something electric going on and off when it's not supposed to. Crazy Moral of the story: Be very cautious of what's advertised and what you get these days, Mars Hydro offers great deals on what seems to be a fairly good product, looks good, works good for a while but at the end of the day just doesn't cut it. I did get in touch with their customer service at first or they got in touch with me i should say after posting a bad review an initiating a return (yes another one) on a 4in fan that sounded like a jet engine...we'll skip that one for now. They'll work with you to a certain extent as long as you fix your reviews. Let me be clear here, i have reached a satisfactory conclusion (refund) to all my issues but not without a lot of stress and anxiety, that certainty was the most painful experience I've had with a vendor on this platform period.
