Cuisinart 3-In-1 Cook Central 6-Quart Multi-Cooker: Slow Cooker, Brown/Saute, Steamer, MSC-600 NAS, Silver

Title: Perfect All-in-One Cooker — I Use It Constantly! Review: I bought this Cuisinart four-mode cooker because I wanted one appliance that could handle multiple cooking tasks without taking up a lot of counter space. It can sauté, steam, slow cook, and roast — and it does all of them really well. First impressions: When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was how solid and well-made it felt. The controls are simple, the inner pot is sturdy, and nothing feels cheap. Performance after real use: After using it often for several different meals, I can say it’s become one of my most reliable kitchen tools. I love being able to sauté meat or vegetables right in the same pot before switching to slow-cook — no extra pans to wash. It cooks evenly, heats up fast, and everything I’ve made has turned out great. Pros: • Very versatile (sauté, steam, roast, slow cook) • Saves time and reduces extra dishes • Easy to clean • Solid build and reliable performance • Great for everyday cooking Cons: • None so far — it’s performed perfectly for everything I’ve used it for Would I buy it again? Absolutely. It’s one of those appliances I reach for constantly, and it has replaced several other gadgets.

We love it. It is an ideal size for small recipes for 1-2 people, with limited left overs depending on how much you eat, fill your plate or just 1/3 your plate with other sides like a veggie & potatoes or roll. But it doesn't fit everything that you would want to make. Realistically you will likely need both a 3.5 and 5 quart crock pots to select based on the size of the recipe. We still use this 3.5qt most for 2 of us, but have on occasion found it filled too quickly and switched over to the 5qt. Remember, any crock pot should only be filled to 2/3, not the top that is shown in all pictures on any box. We had started with a lot of veggies and potatoes and found we were already at 2/3 on this 3.5qt before we could even add the meat, so we switched to the 5qt. But then you do not want to always use a 5qt either, because you do not want too little in. So we end up using this 3.5qt most for the 2 of us, but have to occasionally use 5qt. The 3.5qt pot is easier to clean because it is smaller and weighs less than the 5qt. The construction and quality of this pot seem very good to us. The lid is standard thickness for crock pots, and there doesn't seem to be any need for it to be heavier while it is cooking. It does build up condensed water around the ring of the lid and bubbles out during cooking as it continually pushed out steam. The 4 settings seem to give you plenty of flexibility, but we use low for most, and the automatic switch to warming mode is nice. The recipe book was actually nice compared to a Crock Pot brand 5qt (that we also like) that claimed a recipe book, but really only added a few pages at the pack of its manual. This one is a nice spiral bound book, but no pictures. We couldn't always just set it and forget it, or just follow the exact time on the recipe. You really have to experiment to find the ideal cooking time for you. We found our recipes are done earlier than the usual 8 hours stated in our recipes, and ended up getting overcooked. So you make it once, realize it is dryer or veggies are overcooked, so you reduce the time next time. So the meals weren't perfect the first time we did any recipe so far, but were better the second time around when we made cooking time adjustments. For example, the first meal shown in the video was overdone, apples overcooked, and meat was a bit tough, which I think you can see in the video. So next time, just cook it less. For some meats, you really should test with a probe thermometer to ensure it is safely cooked, but hopefully only to confirm it is done, not to check frequently because you have to add cooking time every time you remove the lid. For the second meal shown in the video (pulled pork), it too cooked longer than needed the first time, and was better the second time when we checked the temperature earlier and confirmed done earlier. The best success we had with this was making pulled pork. Btw, I skipped showing the steps testing the meat temperature, adding the BBQ sauce, and using a fork to shred the pork.

Love this crock pot. It is so much lighter than my old ceramic crock pot. The searing function works well and and 400 degrees is plenty to put a quick sear on meat. One thing I found was the high setting cooked my roast much faster than my old crock. So if your not going to me watching during cooking best to use the low setting. Easy cleaning too.

Last and final update because unfortunately they have dropped to 1 star now. In total I have had to return this product four times. The last time was because unit stopped turning on one day after one month. Gave it one more chance. Now this one lasted 4 months and is The final straw. This one is doing same had started to get screwy with temperature, boiling things on low and simmer, couldn't stop it from getting too hot even on low slow cook.. Then one day didn't turn on. Waited til next day and would get just light up screen no functioning. Then worked again for week. Not heating well. Now today again won't turn on. I need reliability. I'm done. Expensive and unreliable. So disappointed. —— UPDATE ON MY REVIEW: This is a great piece of equipment for your kitchen I use this every day from breakfast to lunch to dinner, to pre-making meals to put into the freezer> It has so many uses I would not be able to even list them all. Today I used it to pre-cook vegetables to use during the week. Then I made brown rice to use later as well. (I have a rice cooker, but I actually preferred to use this over my rice cooker it allows me to cook perfectly steamed rice quickly using the boil/steam button. Then I cooked meat and chicken. I also made eggs this morning. You can heat up slices of pizza (or reheat other items ) so that the cheese melts perfectly and the bottom gets a little crispy. You can prepare a meal that has various steps such as saute, roast, and then slow cook in the same pot. I absolutely love this cooker. It is a breeze to clean, you can put insert into dishwasher, but I just wipe out and wash at sink quickly dry it and put it right back. > Additionally, the following Review included my experience with Cuisinart's policy on their products. I purchased this MSC-800 cooker and was very excited to receive it and start using it. I have owned multicookers before and think they are a great item for my needs. When this cooker arrived, I put it to the test right away. Unfortunately after a few different tests I realized that the cooker insert is slightly warped and therefore causing uneven heating and cooking, temperature etc. Ok, this is alright, things like this happen. I called Cuisinart and they tell me that it is a Limited Warranty and that they will replace it, but I have to pay to ship it to them. I explained again that I had just gotten it 3 days before, did I really have to Pay to ship it to be replaced? The agent was so rude that I had to ask for a supervisor. Long story short she lied said there wasn't one, I had to call back and start all over. Cuisinart does in fact feel that YOU should pay to ship a defective product to them. One that cost hundreds of dollars and did not work properly from the start due to a manufacturing defect. This made me feel so badly as a customer. My first Cuisinart purchase. feeling like I made a mistake because of such a sad way to treat a customer. Thank goodness for AMAZON. They Made this experience better. They are sending me a new one before they even get this one. Thank you AMAZON. So, This is going to be a two part review. I do look forward to having a working cooker, but I will also note in that review that I am not feeling very warm and fuzzy about Cuisinart MSC-800 Cook Central 4-in-1 Multi-Cooker, 7 quart and will not be purchasing another product from their company.

This slow cooker does it all … being rectangle allows you to fit just about anything in it … Highly recommended … this is my 2nd one and I use mine all the time

The product never worked right from the beginning. You have to buy a 220/110v converter to run this gadget. The power consumption is 200 w.To be in the safe side I used a 350w converter but the cooker display never came on nor the cooker. Awaiting replacement / refund. Cost of the cooker was Rs.8229.
