Space Base: The Emergence of Shy Pluto

We love this game and have enjoyed many hours playing this with our kids. We liked it so much we even bought the expansion pack!

Great expansion. Adds so much to the game while only adding easy mechanics. When you add it all together, it's a much more fun game! I'm so sad to see this out of print. The base game is nothing without Shy Pluto. I wish AEG would release the expansions—so much amazing work, and most of us won't ever get to play them. I haven't played the others, but this one is AMAZING. I love how Shy Pluto makes other people's turns more interesting. This is an all-around awesome expansion.

Spacebase is a very well-designed game. Shy Pluto introduces some fun game mechanics that my family has enjoyed. A nice way to keep the game fresh!

Minor spoilers ahead: We really enjoyed Space Base, and Shy Pluto added a lot of new ways to win. Should you focus on income? Personal rolls? The old trusty arrow chains? Victory point cards? Or will you buy patrol cards and work those Shy Pluto dice? The Story was fine, and a good way to gradually introduce the new cards and dice to the game. It's really fun to have dice to roll each turn, and the new cards add a lot of variety to our games. The wife and I play this 3+ times a day, as the games typically only take 20 minutes or so, once you get familiar. Recommended as an add on to a great game.
