DMV Classic Vented Contact Handler - Inserts and Removes Hard and RGP Contact Lenses - Pack of 3

Only DMV I will ever use. So much better than the unvented ones. I always get my lens first try with these.

I was unable to figure out how to put ortho-k lenses in or take them out using my finger or pushing on my eyelids. But like Mom always said, "If it's difficult, you're using the wrong tool." My optomestrist didn't want me to use a plunger because "what if I lose it" and I was just like, you know what--the lens itself is ALSO a tiny piece of plastic that I can't lose or else? Soooooo... Anyway... This. This is the right tool for ortho-k lenses.

I have been having the hardest time getting my scleral contact out. The regular plungers without a hole are not easily suctioning to my contact but this one works much better as you can squeeze the handle of the plunger and release it once you are attached to the contact to create a solid suction which can then be released once the contact is out of your eye by squeezing the handle again. I still sometimes have to do the thing where you push the lower lid into the contact to break the seal before i can suction it out so I’m not suctioning my eyeball out but I can attach this first before I do that.

Make sure to squeeze it a little, and hold, before you put it on your lens. This way it forms a Slight suction properly. Gently hold it so as to not break the suction between the lens and the device. Fill your lens and bring it up to your eye. Squeeze the DMV Completely and HOLD. Your lens is now floating on the device. It can now naturally adhere to your eye. IF you stop squeezing before you put it on, it will re-suction your lens and it won't release it into your eye. It only takes 1-2 seconds at most, so don't wear your fingers out. I like these a lot better than the other plungers for contacts. I don't have to use two different ones to insert my contacts or to remove them. I can just use the one. They are also washable and reusable. Others say you can't wash and have to dispose of after so many uses. I like the fact that I'm able to store it in the container it came in. So no worries or having to rinse or clean before you use it. Where as most don't come with anything to store it in.
