I need more

this knife is a perfect pairing knife size, it's very sharp and very useful, any knife under the kiwi brand are excellent. if i had to say there pros and cons it would be likepro:This knife comes very sharpThe knife comes with a comfortable handleIt's easy to sharpen if you have proper toolscons:You need to take good care of the handle. It's not dishwasher safeIt's not the most easy to sharpen and if you aren't comfortable doing it yourself i wouldn't recommend it as it needs to be sharpened more often. It can get light rust if it sits in waterHow I take care of the knife:I apply boiled linseed oil weekly, and do light sanding and recoat it, if somebody puts it in the sink or dishwasher.if you're not a fan of linseed oil, try varnish or some poly urethane.Sharpening, i use a 1200 grit diamond stone this is pretty easy since the diamond cuts fast, and you don't need to spend a lot of time since the steel is razor thin.for the finishing /honing step, you can use a leather strop with compound, or my personal choice, a 3000 grit red ruby stone, they are all over amazon pretty cheap, <5$ 1"x4" or 2"x4" the red stone is very hard and gives a slightly under mirror finish. this step is usually not needed, but considering the effort, it takes under 5 minutes to do enough, i usually go ahead. To summarizeIf you're willing to care for the knife, it's a great knife. It not the best knife for somebody that doesn't care about knifes, but it is certainly a great value. if you're on a very tight budget i would recommend this and the chef or deba knife, kiwi as a knife brand is very affordable and of acceptable quality.

Your Money's Worth and More

This is my 2nd Kiwi knife, and they have both been razor sharp. These knifes won't win any beauty contests, but they are functional. I have more expensive knives, but these are the ones I reach for time and again. They simply work. The blades are thin, so they are not suitable for going through bones and really hard stuff. For everything else they make for almost effortless cutting. You could spend $100 or more on a knife, but I love the feeling I get when I think I've gotten a bargain. And these are a great bargain in my opinion. For the price, you won't hate yourself in the morning either way.

It does what it should

This isnt the best or most expensive knife out there. Actually, its quite cheap. But it does its job well and is the best knife for a casual cook. And if you blunt it or damage it, its cheap to replace and has 90% of the quality of an item much more expensive.

Thin and Awesome

It's a very thin knife. This is not a Japanese chef's knife, it's just a flexible little knife that does some of the smaller cutting that you want to do. It's easy to grab, easy to sharpen, easy to clean and dry and put away. It's a good stocking stuffer but not a birthday gift so much as just a small knife that one won't get too excited about but will appreciate on a daily basis.

Excellent knife

Great quality for the price. Bought 3 years ago and haven’t sharpened it yet, and it’s still one of my best-performing knives.
