Awesome product. I use these, mixed with fat free chicken breast as a excellent source of protein, omega 3s and creatine, as muscle support for my workouts. Best price I've found anywhere.

Personally, these have become my favorite canned sardines. Not too high in salt, which is important to me. Amazing flavor, no crunchy backbone. You can use them like canned tuna, or we put them on top of pasta in a stir fry. Or make fish cakes. Or on top of a salad.

These were great for my dog. Sorry if you wanted my opinion as a human consumer--I can barely tolerate tuna fish. My dog had no problem appreciating the smell, freshness, or the nutrition. He liked the fact that the cans were easy to open considering the fact that he has no thumbs and I did it for him. There were a few residual bones I had to pick out. I suppose they are as fresh as canned fish can be. There are plenty of omega 3s in sardines. That nutritional aspect was important for my dog's coat and joints. The texture was just a little mushy but he did not seem to mind. When I yell "STINKY FISH" he comes a running.

Only 11 tins came in my 12-pack. The star rating above is more about that shortfall than the product. Could lack of quality control in packing also indicate a questionable source, even if the product itself would normally be good? I had specifically ordered the kind with "No added salt" and "Packed in Water", because this was a test run before placing a subscription to use as a supplement for my dogs. Got distracted at first when the nutritional info said this "No-salt-added" fish had 320 mg of salt (?!?!), or 14% of an adult human's daily need. DV for dogs has to be even lower, making the salt burden higher. But, water-packed, no-salt-added sardines are reputedly good for dogs. High in omega-3s and low in mercury compared to larger fish. So I figured one tin wouldn't hurt them while i investigate further about that. The dogs seemed to enjoy the sardines. BUT only after i had used a tin did i happen to count and THEN i noticed that even though i had only used the one tin, there were only 10 left. I checked several times. Customer service issued a full refund, which was more than i asked. I just wanted one more tin. But still a bummer, as i had hoped to subscribe and had been seeking a reliable and affordable source for these. Given the packing issue, this seems unlikely to be a source i feel comfortable subscribing to. Update: Since the dogs liked them, may give them another chance. Will update review with results, if so.

May not be sardines, but they are delicious. Buttery, smooth and just darn yummy. I have eaten sardines for years. These are Herring. I order these to give it a go and “wow” looks beautiful and taste scrumptious.

Here’s the updated review with your addition: I purchased the Brunswick Sardine Fillets in Water primarily for my dog because they’re free of salt and packed in spring water rather than unhealthy seed oils. These sardines have been a game changer! My dog had a small limp that required glucosamine supplements, but since switching to these sardines, the limp has completely disappeared, and we no longer need the supplements. My dog absolutely loves them and is happier and healthier than ever. We also eat these sardines ourselves and really enjoy them. They’re fresh, clean-tasting, and a great option for a healthy snack. We do add a little salt to ours for flavor, but the quality is excellent. I highly recommend this brand for both pet owners and anyone looking for a simple, wholesome product. These sardines are a staple in our household!
