Full Metal Panic! Second Raid - Tactical Ops 03

If you have seen the other 2 Full Metal Panic series, this one is required viewing. You will not be disappointed. This series goes back to the gritty action and drama seen in many portions of the 1st series. Most definitely the least humorous out of the three but that's what allows this one to shine through. Plus, we get to see the much more emotional Sousuke, rather than the socially inept and more laid back Sousuke in Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu. Anyway, the conversion to blu-ray makes the overall animation quality crisper and clearer and the colors are more vibrant. The sound quality is much richer and noticeably more dynamic. Definitely a much better way to enjoy this awesome series. For people new to the Full Metal Panic universe, this one and the other 2 series are recommended if you: 1) enjoy mech battles and war/battle based stories, 2) enjoy "tongue and cheek" humor, 3) enjoy nice doses of action(explosions, gunfire, and etc), 4) like interesting and engaging storylines, and/or 5) like memorable characters and good character development. So basically, if you don't mind an anime that gives you everything from absolute seriousness to zany humor, and some of the stuff in between, you will probably enjoy Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid(and the other 2 shows).

The Second Raid was ok, but I liked the Original one better.

No, I am not saying that this was a horrible disc and you shouldn't buy it. I am saying this because all three episodes on this disc are very gloomy. I will give a quick summary of each episode. Episode 8: After Sousuke is giving orders to stop protecting Kaname Chidori and return back to the Tuatha de Danaan (or TDD-1), he is in for a rude awakening. First, he stops by to see the submarine commander Teletha Testarossa (Tessa for short) who pretty much tells him that she gave the green light for Sousuke to return to the submarine-which means stop guarding Chidori-and start piloting the Arbalest full-time. Sousuke in his usual way disagrees, but doesn't come right out and say it. This causes Tessa for an outburst (tears included) and Sousuke just clamps up. From there, Sousuke meets his new Lieutenant and fails horribly at the test the new Lieutenant gave him. Episode 9: Switch back to Kaname and see how she's doing. Well, she starts to suspect that someone is following her and decides to man up (or girl up in her case) and confront them. After getting a hotel room with a complete and total stranger, she gets to meet Mithril Intelligence Agent "Wraith"(F.Y.I. this "guy" is actually a girl). Wraith then tells her yes, she has been following her, but so as someone else. Enter Xia Yu Lan, the younger twin, who shoots Wraith and goes after Kaname. She attempts to kill Kaname, but fails after falling for an old trick in the book. Then enter Leonard Testarossa, Tessa's brother and a fellow Whispered. He orders his bodyguard (mini-AS) to kill Xia Yu Lan. And finally, he does the stupidest thing any guy could ever do-kiss Kaname on the lips...which leads to him getting slapped. And Kaname having a breakdown because Sousuke wasn't there to comfort her...like usual Episode 10: Mitrhril is sent to Hong Kong to stop a rogue AS unit. (You get background on Melissa Mao) After reviewing possible scenarios, Mithril orders Melissa and her comrades on a very simple-yet tedious-mission: Search for the AS...not fun. Anyway, Melissa teams up with Sousuke, as they are passing through various checkpoints, Sousuke screws up royally by not focusing on the road (rather on his situation) and causes a traffic accident. Luckily, the AS shows up, kills a few guys and runs. Melissa and Sousuke get back in the van, with Melissa telling Sousuke that she doesn't wanna be responsible for his death and needs to man up. But instead of the usual Sousuke accepting the situation for what it is, he says okay and gets out of the van. Leaving the viewer (you) with a very simple question: What is Sousuke going to do? Overall, I think I would have to say that this DVD is very dark compared to the other two. But it is a must buy because you get to see Tessa reveal how she feels about the "love triangle", Kaname finally revealing how she feels about Sousuke, and Sousuke finally realizing that though being a solider is great,its nice to have someone in your life who cares about you for WHO you are, not WHAT you are...

Great action, mature and sometimes very funny. I was thinking blu-ray could have been an international product. But no. Instead of that, we see a lot of multiple blu-ray all over the planet. And finally, the best animes on Earth will be only region A. I'm in rage. They always plain of piracy but it's normal they take customers for sheeps and give us products with plenty of defaults. Laughable products and laughable industry.

Kaname Chidori, Captain Testarossa(Tessa) and Sousuke Sagara are in their 3rd adventure in this fantastic Full Metal Panic TSR Blu-ray set. It's amazing, has a lot of war, great action, and suspence. This is a great sequel to the Full Metal Panic Franchise. It looks so real with crystal clear picture and sound. A lot better than the DVDs. I know that some people aren't satisfied about this set because the lack of animation from the opening. But I guarantee for those who have a 42" LCD HDTV or bigger(no plasma) center ALL your color settings(leave it on 1080p). Then you'll get better HD quality while you're watching the series. Overall this is one of the best anime blu-ray sets ever sold. This is definately worth buying.

It's it's beautiful!! And Amazon has the best price for it now ($35) and when I got it. ($32) I always thought that blu-ray was stupid when it came to anime but now I'm a believer of how it can enhance it. This is a great boxset and great series overall. Though I would not recommend you to get this if you haven't at least watched the first season of this series. You wouldn't be able to truly appreciate this boxset if you haven't. So if your reading this and it's one of the prices above, then stop reading and go buy it!

北米版でちょっと心配でしたが、問題なく再生できました。 特典は要らない人にはお勧めです。

いい買い物をしました。私は無印とTSRを買ったのですが、この北米版のフルメタTSRには特典映像やOVA、そして賀東さんの香港取材(約3時間)が入っていたりと、お腹いっぱいです。はやく続編でて欲しいですね。そしてBlu-ray2枚だけなので、まとめてみるときにディスクの入れ替えが必要のない点もいいと思いました。掘り出し物を見つけられて良かった。
