Does the product smell to dogs, as our neighbours were using this to correct dog behaviour and our dog wouldn't go out in the garden after its use.

It does smell. Didn't do anything to stop my dogs fighting like it says it should but every dog is different. Left a horrible greasy feel to their coats

Our dog whines at the door when my husband walks out? She doesn’t bark but could it be used to help stop the anxious pining?

I would certainly try it. You may only have to use it once or twice and they will quickly learn to stop by just showing the dog the spray. Followed by a reward. Hope this helps
