what type of metal is this capo made of?

Honestly don't know, bought for my son, all I know is its very strong and sturdy and it works exactly how it's supposed to

How thick are the picks?

I would say they are a medium. A little bit of give in them Ideal for acoustic picking I wouldn't use them personally if you have super light guage guitar strings
