I purchased this mastectomy pillow after seeing it featured on Amazon and reading the glowing reviews from other customers. And I can attest that the reviews are spot-on. This pillow has been an absolute essential during my surgery process and it’s so handy that I see no reason not to keep using it after I heal from my reconstruction. Something about its shape and softness is the magic - I didn’t really wear it strapped to my body while moving around the house, but primarily used it when in bed. It sits so naturally across your body that it makes a non-bulky barrier that prevents your comforter from weighing or chafing against sensitive areas. Almost more importantly, the side panels provide a gentle armrest that prevents uncomfortable muscle pulling in your shoulders when you are laying on your back. As a side sleeper, sleeping on my back has been one of the toughest aspects of this process and your arms really do pull down to the sides in a way you don’t notice until the muscles along the top of your chest are compromised. Lastly, the pockets are everything so you’re not fumbling for your phone or remotes which is so important when your range of motion is compromised. Of course it is a must in the car too. A few times over the last few months I’ve forgotten my pillow while going in a car or staying overnight somewhere- and on all occasions trying to substitute another pillow did not come close!! Get this gem!! Best purchase I made for this journey and as noted I see no reason why I won’t keep using it when I’m all healed!

The descriptions and photos were very helpful but I found the product even more wonderful than I expected. I had a bilateral mastectomy. I don't usually sleep on my back but knew I'd have to due to the drains. I also had 3 cats who like to sleep on me - was worried about that. I found that lying on my back with the pillow across my chest was comfortable, the "wings" supported my arms so that there was no pull on my chest, and the softness/thickness was such that the cats very quickly learned to rest their heads on my shoulders rather than lying directly on my chest. They caused me no pain, but were still able to cuddle, purr and provide needed healing power!! The pillow is durable, the pockets are perfectly placed and sized to hold a cell phone, TV remove or small book. I just can't say enough about this pillow. I love it and feel it made my recovery so much easier. I am 2 weeks post op today and still using it with comfort. Thank you so much!!

I love this thing! It's not as "weighted" as I anticipated but that's OK since my surgeon said to not have too much pressure. She also wants me to heal naturally with no heat / cooling so I havnt tried the pack yet. But just having it over me as an extra layer of comfort / protection. There are pockes on the front and back which was nice surprise. I can hold my phone or medicine or walkie talkie to get my husband if I need help. I also think once I'm healed this will make a great lumbar support for my lower back and the ice pack will come in handy. It's super soft and comfortable and I'm very attached with it. It's the main thing I carry with me from bed to couch for a change of scenery. Plus I have youmh kids and animals that are used to climbimg all over me and this pillow protexts from u expected paws or hands enough to address the situation and get them to stop. I highly recommend!

Excellent pillow. I didn't know what to expect from reconstruction surgery, but this pillow does it all. Protected my chest while sleeping in bed, sitting in a chair and so soft and secure while driving. I can't say enough about this pillow. You need one if you're having any chest or stomach procedure. This pillow is so simple and easy to use, the color is great for after surgery, the weight was perfect for my chest and stomach and price was well worth it. This pillow assisted in my pain relief tremendously. I couldn't have done reconstruction surgery without it. I recommend this simple pillow wholeheartedly! I especially love the convenient pocket for my phone. This pillow is a keeper.

I saw this on someone’s list as an essential accessory for recovering from mastectomy surgery and I couldn’t agree more! At night I tuck the side pillows around me so that I don’t roll onto my side while sleeping. During the day it provides great padding and comfortable support for my arms.

The back strap comes loose a lot, and if you're thin it won't fit well, but overall it's a good product and the pillow quality is good.

I chose your pillow first of all because it was very pretty and i knew it would make me happy. I love the lavender color. I also was very attracted to the fabric which looked not only soft but nubby with some texture. Actually the fabric is out of this world and the pillow has been a great purchase. Since my mastectomy, I need to sleep on my back, which is not my usual position so I lay the pillow on my chest and spread out the “wings”. And position them under my arms for comfort. I the place my glasses and phone in the pocket and fold my arms up on the pillow snd I actually stroke the amazing fabric snd it’s very soothing. Sort of like a stuffed animal. It’s weird, but it’s wonderful and is very soothing and provides me a great deal of comfort. I have become very attached to the pillow because it’s very soft snd it feels so good to run my hands over it. I will also use it in the car under a seatbelt. I just love it. It’s so pretty. It feels so nice to touch. It gives me such comfort to hold it. It’s so useful in keeping my arm elevated. It’s the best purchase I made and highly recommend this particular pillow to anyone who gets a mastectomy. You will be pleasantly surprised at how you will love it. Anything nice you can do for yourself at this awful time is what you should do.

I recently had a double mastectomy. Prior to my surgery, I searched for items I would need to help in my recovery. Now, I have a cat, and for those cat lovers out there, you will understand this. My cat sleeps with me every night, and she likes to jump up from the floor on to my chest, walk on my chest and lie on my chest. Obviously, after having a double mastectomy, I knew I had to find something to protect me from my 11-lb. cuddle bug. This pillow was my answer! It is soft, has a washable cover and comes in pretty colors. It has a pocket on the top and one on the bottom of the main pillow to hold your phone, remote or whatever else you need that you can't otherwise reach because you hurt too much. On each side of the main pillow, there is a smaller pillow with arm holes on which to rest your arms. This pillow was the best thing I every purchased. Not only did it protect me from my precious cat, but it helped me get comfortable when lying down. If you're about to have any kind of surgery on your chest area, don't waste another second. Buy this pillow and happy recovery!

I had a breast reduction and this has been so handy. It provides a barrier so my cats can’t jump on me. It allows me to lift my arms slightly when I’m sleeping. It has a pocket for my phone and glasses. And it protects my chest from the seatbelt in the car. It’s really something you don’t know you need until you have it.

I purchased this pillow for a friend and she has said it has been very helpful when she sleeps at night and rests during the day. It arrived earlier than expected which was a big bonus!! Thank you!!

The pillow itself was fine however the clip at the back was very cheap and did not clip properly so I had to tie it around my back instead which was slightly uncomfortable

This pillow is a must have, even if only used for a short time. I had a breast reduction and I had key hole incisions plus incisions that ran under my breasts and underarms. This pillow really helped to aid with comfort of my arms down at sides. Yes, they say you can use regular pillows to prop under your arms, but this pillow is great because it stays in place. No pillows falling or needing to be repositioned all the time. I give 5 stars and highly recommend!! I and 5’5” and I weigh 178 pounds and found this pillow to be the perfect size.
