SSD arrived timeously and as described. It's clearly a very good SSD that performs flawlessly once one's HDD info. is successfully transferred to this new Samsung SSD using Samsung's "Magician" software. Some words of caution: it's often very difficult to use Samsung's software to facilitate data transfer from your old HDD to Samsung's SSD. There are many comments / problems around this on-line, so do your homework prior to installing this new SSD; no need to rush this ... do it properly. Once the HDD data is successfully transferred to this new SSD, it's pure magic. Note, the caution above is usually only experienced when using Samsung's cloning software. One apparently does not experience these difficulties when using other cloning software such as Macrium Reflect, etc. I specifically chose, however, to use the Samsung SSD cloning software, eventually succeeding, which has proved to be the right thing to do as this extensively-functional Magician software from Samsung is excellent for managing one's new Samsung SSD. Try to stick with using Samsung's Magician software, for closing and for on-going monitoring, etc. of one's new SSD. In closing, once the new SSD is successfully in place, make sure that "Trim" is activated by Microsoft's "Optimise Drives" defragging system (original software; all Microsoft software have it onboard as standard). Whilst it SHOULD be activated automatically, check anyway by bringing up Microsoft's "Optimise Drives" and checking to see whether "Scheduled Optimisation" is turned on, i.e. the box it ticked. Note that using Samsung's original "Magician" software to monitor this new Samsung SSD does also have a trimming function built in which additionally serves to make sure the new SSD is trimmed continuously. However, per the above explanation, also make sure that trimming is also activated via Microsoft "Optimise Drives" software. Good luck! Once you install your new SSD you won't look back ... it's chalk and cheese in speed, efficiency, etc.! Worth the time / effort!

Worth a buy - its a great little drive and seems to be fast. Iv had no problems with it over time and its worked consistently well as my boot drive, so the 500gb is a good size.

Bought this to replace the old HDD in a laptop, highly recommend. Boot times went from 5+ minutes down to around 1. Much better performance, plus it’s completely silent given that it’s solid state. I was also impressed with how lightweight and compact it is. Just be aware, if you want to back up/clone your current drive, you’ll need a SATA to USB cable, which is not included.

Ich habe meine alte HDD durch diese Samsung 870 EVO ersetzt und der Unterschied ist gewaltig. Der PC bootet jetzt in wenigen Sekunden statt gefühlten Minuten und Programme öffnen sich sofort. Die Geschwindigkeit ist wirklich beeindruckend. Die Installation war unkompliziert. SSD einbauen, mit der Samsung Data Migration Software die alte Festplatte klonen und fertig. Das hat bei mir etwa eine Stunde gedauert für 500GB Daten. Die Software ist intuitiv und macht den Umstieg sehr einfach, auch für Leute ohne großes technisches Wissen. Die Geschwindigkeiten von 560 MB/s beim Lesen und 530 MB/s beim Schreiben werden in der Praxis auch erreicht. Große Dateien kopieren sich deutlich schneller als vorher. Auch beim Gaming merke ich den Unterschied - Ladezeiten sind minimal und Texturen laden flüssig nach. Die 2TB Kapazität ist großzügig bemessen. Ich habe Betriebssystem, alle Programme, Spiele und noch viel Platz für Daten. Endlich muss ich nicht mehr ständig überlegen, was ich löschen kann. Die Investition in die größere Variante hat sich definitiv gelohnt. Was ich besonders schätze: Samsung ist bekannt für Zuverlässigkeit und Langlebigkeit bei SSDs. Die 5-Jahre-Garantie gibt zusätzliche Sicherheit. Die Samsung Magician Software ermöglicht es, die SSD zu überwachen, Firmware-Updates durchzuführen und die Performance zu optimieren. Installed it to my laptop as an OS drive to replace my existing SSD. Used Samsung software to migrate my OS to this new drive. Very easy. It just took a while to copy the OS but I’m using it now and I’m very happy with it. My laptop is a lot faster, as if it’s new.

Certo, nulla a che vedere con gli SSD NVMe di ultimissima generazione, però credo rappresenti la migliore alternativa per sostituire gli HDD meccanici e “ringiovanire” vecchi PC o Laptop. CONTRO 👎 ❌ Confezione davvero minimale! Oramai, purtroppo, è la politica commerciale di Samsung. Nella confezione si troverà solo l’SSD e la guida cartacea di installazione/garanzia. Stop. Niente staffe di montaggio o telaio, niente viti… neanche un pezzetto di bi-adesivo; ❌ Gli utenti Linux vengono “snobbati”. Non c’è il rilascio di alcun software proprietario Samsung tipo Samsung Magician per l’aggiornamento del Firmware e il controllo delle prestazioni. Bisogna scaricare manualmente il Firmware appropriato dalla pagina download di Samsung, copiarlo su un disco/chiavetta di avvio e installarlo in boot. Procedura semplice per utenti medi-avanzati, ma non per principianti o per utenti che hanno poca dimestichezza con il PC. CONCLUSIONI ⚖️ Al momento credo sia un Best Buy con un rapporto qualità-prezzo eccezionale. Speriamo che l’affidabilità e la durabilità siano veramente quelle dichiarate nelle specifiche tecniche di Samsung e che non inizi a creare problemi dopo pochi mesi. Se così fosse tornerò naturalmente ad aggiornare prontamente la recensione. Qualche piccolo disappunto solo per il mancato rilascio di un software proprietario per Linux OS, soprattutto per permettere un agevole e sicuro aggiornamento del Firmware. Diciamo che comunque, al netto di tutto, non posso che non mettere 5 Stelle anche se non sono proprio “piene” (il voto reale è per me 4,8 stelle). PS: Mi permetto di consigliare, almeno nel primissimo utilizzo dell’SSD, di non migrare dati e sistema operativo dal vecchio HDD/SSD ma di procedere ad una installazione pulita del sistema operativo previa formattazione di questo SSD. Questa procedura sarà leggermente più lenta e laboriosa, ma permetterà di eliminare eventuali errori e farà rinascere davvero il vostro PC/Laptop partendo da zero. Naturalmente, trattandosi di memoria flash, consiglio vivamente poi di non perdere mai la buona abitudine di effettuare periodici backup, soprattutto dei dati importanti, perché un SSD, a differenza di un HDD, non dà alcun minimo segnale preventivo di rottura/anomalia come piccoli gracchiamenti o rumorini strani prima di guastarsi, magari irrimediabilmente. In caso di danneggiamento un SSD semplicemente smette di funzionare, così… da un momento all'altro senza alcun preavviso.
