Dorman Outer Door Window Sweep Right Side

Lack of installation instructions is a drag. There is only 1 U-tube video that comes close and the rest are lame. Check the video on removing door trim/inside panel of either door u'r working on. You can pull the inside window gasket with u'r fingers to give enough working room. Loosen the outside mirror by taken off the lower nuts and loosen the top nut enough to place a plastic or wood wedge under the bottom to lift mirror away from the door enough to slip the trim gasket under the mirror without bending or cutting it. Replace the inside gasket, tighten the mirror... etc. U'r done. If the window still squeaks going up/down, spray all tracks/guides with a cleaner and lube with a silicone spray. 2021 April Update: Replacement window sweep helped, but the new window regulator I had installed last Sep 2020 had the bottom pulley under the motor start seizing up and was the actual big noise maker. Window sweeps were minor. Removed the "new" window regulator, kept it wired so I could move the window transport carriage up/down and lubed with White Lithium Grease while operating it to spread the grease. Reinstalled and problem solved for now.

These window seals are identical to the OEM parts in fit and function, they are plastic like the OEM so they won't rust like the heavy duty aftermarket ones with metal in the core. They fit perfect and take about 5 minutes to install, do a nice job of wiping the glass clean when it has dew on it. One note; one of my window motors is weak (that's next) and I now have to assist it up since these seals are as tight as when the truck was new. I'm glad Dorman makes so many replacement parts since they are the closest to the OEM parts specs or sometimes better.

I have a 2004 Silverado SS that I have kept very nice. However, my side window guards were shrieking during window open/close. Body Shop guy said that GM no longer had them, and that all that he could find were “JCWhitney” low quality pieces that he refused to use. I found these Dorman pieces at a good price, which were every bit as good quality as GM. 2 Years ago, I converted my truck from a mechanical fan to the exact dual factory style electric fans, & that unit was great quality as well. In the past, I have bought electrical replacement parts from GM, where they intentionally changed connectors, which required you to cut/splice in new connectors. Factory parts quality is not the same as before. Also, I could not find these in Rock Auto, but found them pretty easily on Amazon.

Drop the mirror and in goes right in,easy install and seals the window.

Fits just like factory one would.
