Car Audio CD to AUX Adapter for Honda Accord 2003-2012, Plug & Play

Installed in 2005 Accord and works amazing. Easy plug and play, clear sound.

I installed this in my 2006 Honda Accord. My CD player has a CD stuck in it, but who uses CD's nowadays right? I decided to give this a shot, and after youtubing a video on how to get it installed, I was able to get it done in about 20 min. It works as described, now I can just hook up my phone to the Aux cable and boom! I got music in my car again. Totally worth it.

Even though some of the negative reviews here could be legitimate, I suspect many of them are related to user error or misunderstanding rather than a problem with the product. I installed this relatively easily and it has a great sound with no problems so far. For starters, make sure to note the exact product you are getting. There are 3 versions, one with just a 3.5 mm jack (what I ordered), one also with a USB charging port, and one also with a lightning port. On the product (and on Amazon) it says that you can’t both charge and play music at the same time (this is probably why some people had sound issues). But if you install and use it properly it should work great. Two other points to note: 1) if you have a case on your phone or device, you probably want to get a slim adapter so you don’t have to remove the case. The 3.5 mm jack on this product is not slim and won’t fit past most cases. I ordered this adapter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074S15X7W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and the sound is still great. 2) The install does take a bit of work as you have to remove some of the dashboard to get behind the radio (check out any number of YouTube videos on how). If you have a rear entertainment system that is already plugged into the white port behind your radio (we didn’t), you’ll also need a Y-splitter cable so you don’t lose use of that. Overall, this was a cheap way to adapt our older vehicle to stream music from my phone into the car.

It’s overpriced for cheap plastic & thin wires, but it works. I got another one same model and brand from China for $5 shipping included that got delivered 6 weeks later then Amazon. 😂 That being said the sound quality is good, but I had a really great sound system to begin with, so far, this product didn’t hinder the sound quality like the plug in Bluetooth types. Fingers crossed it stays that way. Depending on your car type this could be super easy to install or really time consuming. I had to take apart my entire middle console, shifter knob and half my dashboard to connect this under my 6 cd-changer. If I didn’t have little girl hands, there’s no way I could’ve fit the pins in correctly underneath without throwing in the towel half way into the process. This is likely due to my specific Acura model & general lack of experience with tools in general. (You’ll probably have a much smoother experience). In the end, it’s worth it because wtf is a CD? Anyways, I added an extra layer of electrical tape to it because right out of the box, it looked like it needed some reinforcement and extra security. 6 months in still going strong.

After watching a YouTube video, I thought the installation would be straightforward. And for the most part it was, except the adapter’s blue light wouldn’t turn on. I returned it thinking I had gotten a defective product. The replacement still failed to work, and after Googling didn’t help, I started unplugging cords until I found out which was the radio (Gray) and Power (Blue). I then unplugged every other cord which seemed to have no effect (probably DVD player related). At that point, I tried plugging in the adapter again and it worked! I re-plugged the other DVD player cords (I bought a Y splitter as well) and the adapter still works. TL/DR: I thought I had a busted one, but unplugging some of the cords helped it work and I have no idea what combination made it start working, but be persistent and you can do it too!

Installed this in a 2006 Honda CRV and it works as advertised. You do need to order the splitter if you want to use the cd changer still which should be included. The audio quality is fine, nothing to write home about though. I have had it cut out and had to turn the car off and on to get it working again so I'll update this review after a few months on it's longer term quality. Also as mentioned you can't charge a phone at the same time without getting feedback. I got a feedback isolator which resolved that issue however it cut down the volume of the aux so switching between aux and radio requires a volume change. I had another similar unit I installed in another CRV and had a similar experience. If you can afford it I would try and get a radio from a more recent model year car or an aftermarket one that has built in aux support as all these units are just cheap and not high quality.

The product works as advertised. I bought the auxiliary version, which is the one with a 3.5mm gold platted audio jack on the end. I did not buy the other models. Followed a YouTube video on how to take out the stereo, which is easy enough to do. Unfortunately my connector was in the back of the stereo, which meant I had to remove the entire unit. This added some additional time, but still pretty easy to do. I then pulled out the white connected from the factory and installed the adapter I purchased. Heard it "snap" into place. I then drilled a hole in my storage to slide the rest of the Yomikoo adapter into place. Put it all back together and hooked it up. The sound is crystal clear. No issues what so ever. I tested it with my iPhone XS and the lightning to 3.5mm adapter. The volume automatically when to max on my iPhone which distorted the sound slightly. Cutting the volume on my iPhone back to about 75% was perfect. I then used the volume adjustment on the Honda stereo. It is nice to be able to stream music throughout the car instead of just on speaker phone. To access the Yomikoo, you just hit the CD/AUX button twice. The screen comes with up CDC D1 T1. This is the signal you need to play music or whatever you like. If you have a vehicle like mine that is still kickin', buy this adapter and jump on YouTube for installation. Money well spent for such an inexpensive adapter. I have seen others anywhere from fifty to two hundred! Yikes!

I'm using this cord in a 2004 Honda Accord. As many have said, at times I do hear whining, and other bad feedback sounds, but i found that when you turn up the volume, it can help mask those sounds. The volume does get quite loud, but quality may go down when you turn the volume al the way up. I'm sure newer cars with a built in aux port are better quality, but being that i dont have that, i am very happy with this. The cord was a little short for me so I bought a decent quality headphon/aux Extender for about $7 and that actually made the whining and feedback problems pretty much go away,which I really didn't expect. I figured that adding another wire between the car and my phone would make things much worse, but it really didn't at all. I've only used it a couple of times since I got the wire extender, but so far I like it and recommend that anyone using this product butly a headphone extender

Installed in a 2006 Acura MDX, worked great but note that =IF YOU HAVE FACTORY NAV IT NEEDS A SPLITTER HARNESS TO MAINTAIN TOUCHSCREEN FUNCTIONS WITH ALL YOUR HEATING/COOLING CONTROLS. Previously I was using the RCA ports in the back meant for a DVD player or console or something by running a long 15 ft RCA to AUX cable to the front, but I wanted to hook my google TV up to the car via an AV to HDMI adapter for a long road trip so people in the back could watch movies. Obviously this meant that I couldn't have an aux connection in the front anymore while people in the back used the entertainment system as it occupied the RCA ports. This cheap little unit worked great for my needs, it gives you aux through your 6 CD changer so both music can be played and movies can be watched, total setup cost me about $45CAD ($30 for this interface and $15 for a splitter so the head unit is still usable). Good enough quality that I don't notice it being any worse, also had normal volume despite the warning that it might be quieter or whatever. Highly recommend if you don't want to spend $120+ on a GTA harness.
