Review: What a game changer - There have been a few times in my life where a book has altered my life course. This is another of those. I tend toward not being as open-minded as I would like and I just can't imagine in the past that I would have picked up a book by Ms.Somers. I had a picture of her in my mind of her comedic character many years ago and that was it as far as I was concerned. I've been blessed with rather robust health. Suddenly in January, I started getting a lot of joint pain. I was reading everything I could find online, but it was so confusing. Professionals contradict one another. I didn't know what to do. I prayed for guidance. Oddly I heard SS interviewed on a celebrity gossip type show. But she showed up smart funny and educated on her topic - and health is not typically a topic of the show. Then I saw this book in a couple of unexpected places. Since I had asked for guidance, I thought why not try it. I downloaded the kindle version a few weeks ago. The information and the way it is presented is so digestible. Her interviews with leading doctors in treating the environmental poisons and toxins along with her clear explanations and narratives were so informative. I immediately began to put some of these tips into action. My join pain is gone. I don't know which of the changes I tried made the difference, but I feel must better. A side benefit is that weight is coming off too. Of course I am able to be more active since it doesn't hurt to move. I can't help but believe, after reading this book and now delving more into the research of the doctors she has interviewed, that I am also sending a love letter to that future me and granting myself a healthy older life. I thought I had been afraid of getting older. But I was just afraid of becoming decrepit. There are so many things we can do to combat the toxins that lead to being infirm and shaky at increasingly younger ages. Why live longer if we can't live well? Review: Valuable information for everyone! - Having read a couple of Suzanne Somers' other books, I ordered 5 copies of this one to share with friends. Everyone in this country would benefit from reading her books. As we know, the medical community is for the most part all about the bottom line and NOT about wellness. Suzanne's books have really good information in them and they help you take responsibility for your own health and well-being, rather than expecting your doctor and the pharmaceutical companies to patch it up with drugs. Much better to prevent - rather than treat. I've read other reviews that have said, "Suzanne Somers is wealthy and she can afford to do these things." However, there are many suggestions in her books that are about awareness, avoidance and reading labels, (no cost), as well as enhancing your health with supplements and hormones. We may not be able to afford everything she does, but it's better to do SOME of these things, than to just throw your hands up in the air and give up.

Everyone should know the things Suzanne writes in this book if they care about their health!
I am only about 1/3 of the way through this book, but I can tell you it is probably the best book on this subject I have ever read. Suzanne knows her stuff, and not only has she educated herself in an exceptional way, she has had everything from being affected from toxic mold to cancer, and she has overcome it. She has talked to top doctors from several places, both regular doctors and natural doctors. I think she, herself has become an expert on natural health. I also study this stuff, (not nearly as much as Suzanne), but because my son has health issues, I study everything that I even THINK might or could help him that is NATURAL. He has gone to "traditional" doctors, who I believe have only caused his health to deteriorate. My brother also has Diabetes, then got MRSA, and the "traditional" doctors continued to give him stronger and stronger antibiotics, and for very long periods of time. Eventually the antibiotics quit working for him, and he lost his leg due to his "un-curable" MRSA. When I was taking care of him I caught MRSA from him - I knew what I had because my friend, who used to be a nurse, described the symptoms to me. One night when my brother was in the hospital, I didn't know that his forehead was sweating, and I kissed him. I did know that he had MRSA, but I didn't think that just kissing him goodbye at the hospital would cause me to catch it, but the second I realized that his forehead was sweating, (because he was much sicker than realized), I just KNEW that I had just caught MRSA, and sure enough within about a day or a day and a half I began feeling very, very weird, (one of the symptoms my nurse friend had told me that her MRSA patients said they felt). This weird feeling is really hard to describe - sort of "flu-like" symptoms, but yet different. Well I, not having gone to a doctor of any kind in about 40 years, was not about to start then. So I got online and began researching natural cures for MRS. As God (I believe) would have it, the first company I found really caught my attention. I came across Inspired Nutrition, (I think that's the name of the company), who sells Monolauren. They could not claim that it healed MRSA, but they did say that many people had called them to tell them that once they had MRSA, they took this company's Monolauren, and now they didn't have it anymore. That sounded good to me, and I kept feeling worse. I began taking some strong Colloidal Silver 2 days before I was to go back home. I did not tell my brother or anybody what was going on with me. So I ordered the Monolauren, and had it shipped to my house so that it would be there when I got home. Sure enough - there it was. I got home really late - after midnight, and I was exhausted, so I just took more Colloidal Silver that night and went to bed. The next morning when I woke up, I began taking Monolauren twice a day for the first day to make sure it did not affect me adversely. After that I began taking it 3X a day. As God is my witness, 4 days later I felt like I was back to my normal self. I did not feel any MRSA symptoms at all, but ...... during my research, I noticed that some people who have MRSA also get a nasty rash on their backs. Oddly enough, my brother never got this rash, but I noticed 2 tiny little "pimple" like bumps on my back. Thankfully, I had also bought this spray intended for this use from the same company as where I got the Monolauren, and began using it on my back as soon as I noticed these two little "bumps." The pix I had seen online were just HORRIBLE looking - as if someone had been beaten mercilessly. I continued to spray my back every day, a couple of times a day, and these two little bumps never got any bigger, and I never got any more of them. So I continued to take the monolauren and spray my back until the rash was completely gone, which took about 3-4 months, but I FELT FINE - it was just that the bumps were still there. Just for "good measure," I also continued to take the Monolauren for about another 2 months. To this day, (and that was at least 3 years ago, I have never had even any symptoms of MRSA again. I know I am reviewing this book, but I felt like telling this story to give hope to people who choose to use natural medicine rather than the traditional kind - hope in NATURAL meds, and to let them know, from experience, that they DO work if you have patience, and you should get this book and TRULY LISTEN TO WHAT SUZANNE SAYS. She is telling you the truth, and this is probably the best book on the subject that you could read in my opinion.

physician family
This is a good book if a reader is seeking information about healing a sick gut, avoiding toxic foods and substances etc. Dr. Nicholas Gonzales in interviewed in this book. He is a leading authority on successful, alternative cancer treatments. He is the real deal. A couple of medical statements in the book are not fully complete but are minor errors. Traditional medicine has a place in our health care and so does alternative and ancient practices..no doubt about it. This is a good read.

I think it's great what Suzanne is doing
I think it's great what Suzanne is doing. I think she knows her stuff, has done tons of research and I find her to be an inspiration. So happy that she is working hard to enlighten people on the dangers around them that can impact their health and what can be done to alleviate those dangers. I'm very health conscious so was already aware of much in this book, but still learned a few things, so much props to Suzanne. For anyone who does not read up much on health this is a must read and for those who already research health issues often I think you'll still find this an interesting and informative read. Thank you Suzanne!

A wealth of info. and very well written.
I just got this book and have only read the first few chapters and skimmed thru the rest of the book so far but I'm so impressed! I thought I was fairly knowledgeable about the toxins we are exposed to and what they are doing to our bodies but I had no idea just how serious the situation is. I'm so glad I bought this book. I think the info will be life-changing for me with all of my health issues discussed. I'll update my review after I finish it.

One of the biggest problems in nutrition is all the misinformation
I liked knockout, this book has some good information like the interviews but also gross inaccuracies and focuses on supplementation when we should be looking to heal through diet (long term). It’s frustrating to read a book and receive good information on one line and then the next paragraph you’re given the worst sort of advice. It makes the entire book suspect. I'll post some good supporting links at the bottom of this reivew (links to short talks, quoting medical studies). One of the biggest problems in nutrition is all the misinformation. This book talks about fats as being good for you, true, but the fats you want to eat are things like nuts, seeds, and avocadoes. Wanting meat to be healthy and it actually being healthy is not the same thing. A better source, Dr. Michael Greger’s site is a treasure of free talks and information on the latest nutritional studies. He quotes peer reviewed studies, it’s not a bunch of unsubstantiated information sometimes found in this book. For scientific studies and facts, the following is possibly the best talk you will ever hear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4EXuPZ5WWI On one page she is telling us to eat meat, and then later in the book she is talking about how to supplement an illness which is largely due to meat consumption; for example: heart disease, obesity, constipation, and acid reflux to name a few. Dr. T. Colin Campbell proved in studies you can turn cancer on by simply increasing the amount of animal protein ingested, also studies have proven meat eaters have about 3 times the risk of diabete. And it’s been scientifically proven that meat consumption creates inflammation in the arteries after every meal (see above link). If you want to eat meat that is your choice, but it’s ridiculous to expect good health from it. If you’re looking for a cheap, powerful plan for optimal health, watch the documentary: "Super Juice Me!", eight people, 22 diseases and during the 30 day juice cleanse all their health issues begin to fall away. If you're looking to recharge your health, that's your best answer. On cancer: http://nutritionfacts.org/video/developing-an-ex-vivo-cancer-proliferation-bioassay/ Everyone should better understand health, where their food comes from and the greater impact. Two excellent films to watch are: “Cowspiracy” and “Meet your Meat”. When we understand the idea of macrocosm, we see the same laws relating to optimal health for mankind, are exactly the same for the planet. There is a good section in the book about nutrient deficiencies where it mentions magnesium; some studies will say this deficiency affects up to 75% of the US population. But why would you tell people to take supplements to fill this need, can we really improve natures food? We should be telling people to eat leafy greens and nuts, where magnesium is plentiful, not only will you get your magnesium but a host of other nutrients. Studies have found the average omnivore (SAD) will be deficient in: magnesium, calcium, folate, fiber, iodine, vitamin c, and vitamin e. http://nutritionfacts.org/video/omnivore-vs-vegan-nutrient-deficiencies-2/ If you remove some of the horrible nutritional advice from Susan, this book would be much better. Far too often, we’re quoting opinions, or we get some non-sense theory. For example the part about cholesterol is idiotic. A pure vegetarian basically has zero risk of heart disease, this is a fact, and yet we're told cholesterol does not predict heart disease - it’s sugar, canola oil, rice and bread. What! Are you telling me vegetarians don’t eat sugar, oils, bread or rice? A doctors degree, but no common sense? By all means quit taking the cholesterol lowering drugs, I don’t see how those help anyone. Look, if you take Susan’s advice and gorge on meat – later when you have a heart attack, you can send her your thanks for spoiling your health and life. My dad ate organic, grass fed meats his entire life and died of heart disease, had one leg amputated and stroke to boot, all because his arteries were clogged with animal fats. The last twenty years of his life were sickness, it’s not something you want to risk.
