This is fine, but the disc with software on it is a manually burned miniature DVD-R (annoying because you can't use those small discs in a slot-load drive), not a factory pressed disc. It's covered in fingerprints and scratches (the disc), and was unreadable. Windows was able to install generic drivers and we were able to use the camera with third party software. There is apparently no software download on the Ostec web site for this camera, just their other products.The IR shield over the camera sensor is covered in fingerprints and is scratched. The scratch is clearly visible when the camera is enabled and the lens is defocused or removed.For our purposes (testing some software that uses a camera, but ultimately not this one), it's fine. We get a picture and it was relatively painless to get it working. But don't expect high quality, don't expect professional delivery standards or working software.We certainly didn't, only paying $90 for this, so in that sense I guess it met expectations.

It works but I could never achieve a sharp focus. I tried it on both the my camera port and the eye piece port. There appeared to be a mismatch of the red/green/blue images as I could see fringes of these colors. The microscope is an AmScope T490B which works fine and has a sharp image. After fiddling with the camera for a few days, I returned it. I am disappointed since I really wanted this camera to work. I tried ordering the 3 MP AmScope Camera and it never arrived even after 4 weeks!!! I guess it is not meant to be for me to have a camera on my Microscope.

This is a masterpiece of design and the standard to which all Microscope cameras should be held. I am still reeling from amazement at the abilities of this camera, the workmanship, the ease of operation, and best is the price for a camera that outperforms anything else I have seen. It is a pleasure to use in my application as a gem scope camera, and metallurgy inspection scope. It has helped me achieve the excellence of workmanship that I desire in all the one of a kind jewelry which I make. Thank you! this is the best tool I have acquired in the last 25 years!One note4, when using at low magnification it is necessary to acquire a .5x minifier lens. I have been assured that they will be in stock at this site within 7 - 10 days.Who would I recommend this to? Anyone who needs the very best scope camera available at an amazingly low price! Its competition should be ashamed of what they offer and the prices they charge.

Installs on Windows 7 Professional, but software is terrible to use compared to even the free graphic programs available online. This camera seems to work, but could not get it to focus when installed on my microscope ocular, so I can not comment on the quality of the image. I returned it through Amazon, but only got 75% of my purchase refunded.
