I had not problem getting the key cut, or programming the FOB, but didn't see the instructions for programming the key. Open/shut the doors but wouldn't turn on the car, and you need two keys to program the key. Once I started the Car and shut it off with the two other keys, the replacement key programmed and started the car.

This key programmed fine with the help of a YouTube video. The images of the buttons wore off within months of carrying it in my pocket. After less than one year, the buttons stopped working all together. The original key lasted 11 years. This one lasted less than one year. For the money (vs. buying one from the dealer), I guess it's OK. But I expected longer life.

I was not able to get the fob programmed with the provided instructions. I got the following more detailed instructions from their technical support. This worked for me the first time. STANDARD REMOTE PROGRAMMING Please make sure to read through the programming before attempting. All remotes that are expected to work for the vehicle will need to be with you in the vehicle before attempting to program. Any remotes not present at the time of programming will cease to function until reprogrammed. 1. Enter the vehicle, close, and unlock all doors using the power unlock switch on the driver’s door. 2. Insert the key into the ignition. 3. Within ten (10) seconds, switch the key as far to the ON position as it will go without starting; then back to OFF, perform this step eight (8) times ending in the ON position on the eighth (8th) time. Each cycle ON to OFF will count as one (1). If the door locks appear to be cycling after the fourth (4th) ON to OFF cycle, restart the procedure from STEP 1 and only turn the key four (4) times in this STEP, ending in the ON position the fourth (4th) time. At this point the vehicle door locks should automatically lock and unlock, indicating that the programming mode has been activated. If the door locks do not cycle automatically then the programming procedure has failed and you need to restart the procedure from STEP 1. 4. Within seven (7) seconds, using any remote, (we recommend first programming original remotes if you have one) press and release the LOCK button. The vehicle doors will automatically lock and unlock indicating the new remote has been accepted. 5. Repeat STEP 4 for all remaining remotes you wish to program (you can program up to four (4) remotes total). 6. Once you have programmed all your remotes, exit the programming mode by turning the key off and removing it from the ignition. 7. Test all remotes to ensure they are functioning. If any did not program, restart the programming procedure from STEP 1 and switch the order in which you are programming the remotes. ------ To program the key (not the fob) you'll need two existing keys that will start the truck. Start the vehicle with existing key #1, then turn it off. Immediately start the vehicle with existing key #2, then turn it off. Immediately insert the newly cut key and start the vehicle.

Pros: - It's a single key + fob in one. That's about it. Cons: - It will very likely not fit in your key shroud. I modified my shroud, instead of the key, in case I needed to return it if it didn't work. You will probably have to modify one or the other - The key breaks apart too easily. It is made in 2 halves, which open so you can insert a chip, and change battery on the fob part. I eventually had to super glue mine together just to avoid loosing the chip and being unable to start my car. - The chip is mounted at the maximum possible distance allowable that the car will still recognize it. Occasionally this has caused difficulties starting it, as it may be a hair too far away. Could also be my vehicle, but I'm doubtful, as an OEM key that I keep as a spare has never once failed. - Key is made very cheap. After 3 months the cheap plastic is severely cracked on my key, only super glue is holding it together. Just the force of turning it in the ignition causes the key to shear apart some. - The chip that comes with it has a 50/50 chance to be correct. Mine wasn't. It seems that Ford Rangers were made with 2 different "types" of chips, and only one will work. I had 2 keys and still even a locksmith was unable to get it to program right, so I took the chip out of one of my spares and use it in this key. Overall: If you want a key + fob in one, this will work. However, I cannot speak for it's longevity; I will probably go back to separate fob and key. The only redeeming quality is that the plastic bit that is put through a key-chain is thick enough not to snap off like the OEM fobs. I am not impressed in the slightest by this key, and do not recommend it.

What a deal . Key "fob" works with included programming instructions. Had the key cut at a local Ace Hardware store for $1.08 including tax. Already had 2 keys . One being worn down original . Found "key" programming video on youtube.com for 2015 Ford and it worked . I was very pleased. Ace Hardware wanted $100 just for plain chip Ford key programmed and cut. So beware : 1) key fob programming is separate from just key programming . 2) Ford keys have a chip in them . The key programming is different then the "fob" programming.
