This mouse was everything I didn't want... until I tried it.
I went crazy for a few weeks trying to find a suitable replacement mouse for my recently retired Microsoft Intellimouse Pro. I tried a LOT of different mice looking for something that was similar to that mouse, so a bit on the heavier, larger side and with an ergonomic shape. After trying to satisfy myself with a Zowie EC-1 that gave me a rash and an Fantechs XD5 that was close enough but just too small, I had narrowed it down to the Pwnage Ultra Custom Ergo and the EndGame Gear XM1r. At first, it seemed like an incredibly close match, but was leaning towards the Custom Ergo. I really liked the ergonomic shape of the Custom Ergo and I appreciated the approach to customization with swappable plates, customizable weight options and varying feet/glide sizes. Thing is, when I tried the XM1r, everything I thought I wanted went right out the window. Here was this smaller, lighter symmetrical mouse that felt SUPER comfortable and snappy. I was almost shocked with how much I liked the shape and feel of the mouse even though I had thought for so long that I could only enjoy an ergonomic mouse. There's something about this one that even though it's symmetrical, it still has a comfortable curve to it that lets you rest your ring and pinky finger. It also manages to be smaller and lighter than my Intellimouse while still feeling like it has weight (and without using annoying honeycomb holes to make it lighter). The biggest thing to get used to out of the box was the lighter actuation force required to activate the right click. My hand twitches from time-to-time, so I had a bit of a problem with accidentally right clicking when I didn't mean to. I was able to learn around this though and I now rest my hand a bit differently to compensate in a way that feels still absolutely natural. Another thing I very much appreciate is the driver-less configuration. Of course, you can still download a program from EndGame Gear's website (and Discord) to adjust DPI presets and install firmware updates, but it's not absolutely necessary. If you are comfortable with 400, 800, 1600 or 3200 dpi, you will be absolutely fine never downloading a single thing. One thing I do wish about the software though is that the mouse could save your custom presets internally, so if you unplugged it and plugged it into something else you could maintain the custom DPI you set. I understand why it doesn't work that way, but it would be a nice thing to see with future updates or revisions to the lineup. People may criticize the lack of RGB and other flashy features, but I think the design is nice and understated. I appreciate a product that can still look and feel great without having all of the bells and whistles slapped onto it just to appease the general crowd. I did want to get the see-thru model when I was purchasing mine, but it was in stock for $10 more so I settled on the normal black instead. It's still super nice and feels great either way, so I am fine with my choice. Absolutely recommended to lovers of symmetrical mice and even to Intellimouse/ergo die-hards! You might be just like me and find something that absolutely subverts your expectations in a really pleasant way.

Great mouse for claw!
If you use a claw grip for your mouse, this may be the "endgame" mouse for you. My hands measure at 18.5x10.5 and I can comfortably use this mouse. Other mice that I can compare to are the Razer Viper Ultimate (I found this mouse too flat with not enough of a hump), the G-Pro Wireless (Good mouse but wanted more of a rear humped mouse) , The Roccat Burst Pro (this was the closest and I can say that the burst pro favors more grip types and is a little wider if you have wide hands). I can say for those that have really wide hands, I'd recommend the burst pro more as since the sides of this mouse cave inwards it can cause cramps if you have wider hands. The length can be an issue if you have small hands as well. Overall this mouse is incredible for claw, as the coating is grippy, the cable is light and flexible, and the sensor performance is flawless.

Solid mouse option
Very solid budget mouse. Lightweight and durable for the price. The cord and connection began to fade after a year however this could because of how I used the mouse for laptop gaming on the go

Really nice mouse, I wanted to like it
This is a really nice mouse. Very solid feeling with a nice finish and buttons that feel good to use. I liked that none of the adjustments required additional software to be installed on my computer. If it fits your hand, I would highly recommend giving it a try.

My favorite mouse shape so far
I know the XM1r is not new, but I just recently purchased this mouse because I wanted something in the same vein (measurement wise) as my favorite shape, the SteelSeries Sensei/Sensei Ten. It's not really like that mouse as much as I thought it would be, but I love it none the less. It reminds me of a Zowie S2 that is much shorter in the front, wider in the back, and longer overall. While the short length of the Zowie S2 forced me into a much more aggressive claw grip, the XM1r does not. Its' shape is perfect for me and it allows me to both grip the mouse with a relaxed and aggressive claw, as well as finger-tip For reference, I am a CSGO player with medium sized hands who uses a mix of relaxed/aggressive claw grips while gaming and finger-tip grip while web browsing. So far, I prefer this mouse over any of the other mice I have used in the past (SteelSeries Sensei/Sensei Ten, Razer DeathAdder, Zowie FK1, Zowie S2, and Vaxee Outset AX) and all of those mice were shapes that I enjoying playing with. The XM1r is very light, the coating on the mouse is smooth but still grippy (coming from someone whose hands get sweaty), and the click feeling of the buttons is premium. I absolutely love this mouse and if you are someone who prefers to claw grip, I think you will too.

Do not Buy XMR1 on launch
As someone who just got this mouse, I am very dissapointed to see that they do not have the mouse software ready on launch. There is no excuse to not have it ready when they have multiple versions out to go along with their multiple mice. Not to mention there was no warning about this issue, so i am stuck with the preset dpi's from the button on the bottom of the mouse. As for the quality of the mouse it is excellent, It glides amazing, the profile of the mouse feels great for claw users. The button clicks sound great, Overall the mouse feels very high quality. I am only giving it one star because of the lack of software to control the mouse. Wait for them to fix it before purchasing.
