Have a tiny screwdriver handy
Cheaper than a new laptop! Our kid had stepped on the laptop and broke the display. Fortunately, it's pretty straightforward to replace it. Watch a few how-to videos on the internet before getting started. You will need one of those tiny screwdrivers, like the ones in eyeglasses repair kits

ID numbers show up on screen
There are numbers that show up in the back of the screen. They are always there. It installed just fine and turns on but I can get rid of the numbers and letters. A5 80641 is all I can see.
