I putchased one why was it made in china when it said usa

The palette knife I received says Made in China, is obviously poor quality and doesn't have Bob's face as pictured. My brush however says Made in the USA, has Bob's face, and painted smoothly with a different shade of white. The bristles also look great.

My guess is there are other sellers supplying the product (look up how Amazon stocks supplies to meet delivery times), and throwing in their cheap knockoffs.
OR
They genuinely sell poor quality products now. But I don't buy that as my half size round brush looks great.

Sadly Amazon doesn't do enough to combat this. You're going to have to buy direct on the company's site if you want to be sure you're getting the real thing. A few bucks more but worth it.

Question 2

Does the lettering on it scratch off easily? I don't want that to happen

I don't think the lettering will "scratch off" easily.  Most of the lettering on my brushes and knives happens when I clean them.  You have to avoid getting your mineral spirits and such on the handles.   And, if you get paint on them, then you might lose some of the lettering in the process of getting the paint off.  So if the lettering is important, PROTECT IT!

It works for both.  The edge of the knife even on both side and so is the handle.

Made from china bob ross painting knife

I know right?  In the picture it has printed on the knife "Made in Japan" but the description says,"Made in U.S.A". and then one buyer said the one they received is "Made in China".  The one reason I almost bought one is because of "Made in U.S.A" so I can stimulate the U.S. economy as much as my little purchases can.
