This is really nice, thick paper for practicing Modern Calligraphy. No bleed through. Actually wish the reverse side was lined too! I haven't tried writing on the dotted pages yet (half of the sheets are lined and half are dotted). Nice smooth paper won't wreck your brush pens, at least that's been my experience so far.

Good choice to active your writing!

When purchasing this product I thought it would have more pages dedicated to learning calligraphy. I figured it would be like the learning books from elementary school when we learned cursive. You know lined pages where you can trace the the letters and then free hand, while it does have lined pages it lacks the learning portion. The way we learn cursive is by muscle memory, it’s the same principle here. You need to be able to trace the letters and get a since if the curvature to memorize it. Sadly, that’s not there. However, it does include a page with the calligraphy alphabet and lots of pages to practice. It’s not horrible but I feel like it needs that little extra.

I’m just beginning to learn calligraphy. I’m really happy I bought the practice pad to go with the workbook I bought. The workbook paper is too thin so it bleeds through to the other side which obscure the lesson on that side! :( Ironically this paper is thick enough to use both sides but it is blank on the back side so I practice without guidelines to help. However, just having a nice paper to practice makes me feel so much more confident. I have a long way to go before I’ll be proficient but it’s nice to have a practice pad that let’s me feel like I might just master this new skill!

I like that the paper is thick BUT, this is not paper meant for calligraphy brush pens. Sadly, it will wear out the pen. I am sad that the paper is not smooth it is very rough.

Lively quality paper. Great for practicing.
