Oil Oil and more Oil...But also some healthy recipes.
I like this book. The photos are beautiful and many of the recipes are healthy. There is a variety of healthy fats used in many of the recipes, including nuts, seeds, avocados, coconut and oil. My 1 big issue with the book and why I did not rate it 5 stars is the author's liberal and excessive use of olive oil. Many of the recipes use over a cup of oil. The Seriously Alkaline Salad , for example, uses 1/4 cup olive oil in the dressing for 1 serving. That means for 1 person, you are consuming 500 calories of pure fat from oil in this salad. I'd rather get my 500 calories from fruit over oil, to be honest, because the human body was not made to run on oil. Save oil for cars. I'm not a car. The Kale Salad also uses 1/2 cup olive oil for 2 servings. I watched Forks Over Knives recently and I do believe oil is a potential culprit in our society for adding to obesity. And frankly, if I consume that much olive oil, it will be coming out through my pores for 2 days afterwards, and I'm not keen on having a greasy face at age 41. But aside from the oil issue, there are a lot of recipes I'm looking frward to trying.

A committment and this book = better health
I was very interested in improving my diet and came across Julie Cove's Alkaline Sisters website. Her story of healing intrigued me so I did more reading about an alkaline diet and decided to try to eat less acidic foods. The books I read were informative but more textbook-like. I was very excited to order Julie's book when it came out. It is a visually beautiful book and is organized very well. Julie, through her book, encourages you to change to an alkaline diet at your own pace. Her format is much easier to follow than the previous books I read and it is doable! An alkaline diet is not easy to adhere to in our culture of fast food, eating out, and processed ingredients so a self commitment and this book led to better health for me. I have increased energy and I can really feel a loss of energy if I start eating more non-alkaline foods. I've purchased 3 books in the last year to give as gifts! Thanks, Julie!

A Book EVERYONE should own!
I've been following Julie's blog AlkalineSister.com for a long time and always look forward to her posts. As an avid cook and culinary instructor I have to say that when I ordered her cookbook I couldn't wait to get it. From the cover through to the back its full of beautiful photos but most of all it's packed with a wealth of information that's eye opening and will have you thinking about the foods you eat and what effect they have on your body. I've learned so much!Once you receive her cookbook and start reading through the pages you'll want to order more to gift to friends and family. Julie explains the Alkaline diet like no one else - so everyone can understand it. Whether you go full force into this diet or start small it's well worth the read, and the bonus of colorful and unique recipes. I'm thrilled I purchased Julie Cove's book, "eat better live better feel better - Alkalizer your life...one delicious recipe at a time. I highly recommend purchasing a copy to see for yourself.

It's True!...Feel Better When You Eat Alkaline-based Foods!
As a fan of eating alkaline, I came across Julie's website first and found not only the recipes easy and delicious but there was also a wealth of information. I like to see the science and reasoning behind anyone's claims and Julie provides! Her book is excellent! The steps to living a life of healthy eating (forget "diet" like we are used to thinking "diet" and think "diet" as "life habits") are clearly defined and help you to make the changes necessary to simply feel better. The recipes are do-able (even living in Mexico I can find hemp hearts) and delectable. My food is a hit at parties and potlucks because the dishes taste great and the presentation is so thoughful and beautiful. Friends know I am putting love and caring into my cooking thanks to being inspired by Julie and her engaging photos. I encourage everyone to study eating more alkaline-based foods and to using "Eat Better, Live Better, Feel Better" as your #1 resource for implementing the practice into your and your family's life.

Beautiful photos, inspiring stories, delicious food and better health
We have a huge spectrum of food allergies, so I am often pouring through cook books for something, anything, we can eat. Basically, I was simply managing our allergies (because GAPS and Paleo hadn't helped) and trying to feed my family. This book was simply pretty and I grabbed it for no other reason...but then our life changed!! This book is about alkaline eating, which I had never heard of and was inspired to try it. The difference was incredible within a couple months. Within one year of alkaline eating, our health and our food allergies have improved so much, I am sure everyone I know is tired of hearing about it.It all started with this gorgeous book and it changed our lives permanently. Alkaline will always be a part of our diet!

Not 5, but 10 Stars!
Amazing! Eat Better, Live Better, Feel Better is so inspiring that I keep it on my coffee table. I love this book and I highly recommend it to everyone who wants to improve their health and well being! I can't say enough about how well written and organized this book is. I've learned so much about the best ways of incorporating the alkaline lifestyle, and for preparing foods for my every day meal planning. I don't need to look any further as this is such a well composed book on living a balanced alkaline lifestyle. The Resources area in back of the book also gives a wealth of websites to visit for everything imaginable. If I could give this book 10 Stars, I would!

One of the best alkaline book
1. Arrived well packed , firstly in a plastic cover than in the paper Amazon envelope. Thanks, so the book doesn't get wet in this rainy weather.2. It is a real book, not a printed out crap e-book, as many on Amazon!3. Very nice lay out , beautifully and practically coloured, really enjoyable to hold in your hands.4. Yes, it is a REAL ALKALINE BOOK, which doesn't tell on page x that meat/ dairy/sugar/gluten/egg etc are highly acidic but on page y use them in the recipes. So it is the book for you if you are LOOKING FOR A TRUE ALKALINE BOOK WITH GOOD RECIPES.5. Bear in your mind it is vegan as I said meat/dairy/egg etc are highly acidic but it is up to you to use them if you feel you need it.Last but not least: I have bought 6 alkaline books with recipes , sent back 3 of them straight away (rubbish e-books), took 1 to the charity, gave 1 to a friend who is on the way to alkaline diet and keep only this one! 😁😁😁

It's a great book. Very informative. Though not all recipes are accessible to those on lower incomes eg powdered stevia leaf, coconut nectar, real maple syrup, water filters, supergreens etc etc, and depending on where you live, the array of veg and things like rice parmesan just ain't available. However Julie Cove is really informed and has some v interesting info in there. And she writes in a supportive way.The different alkaline/detox regimens can be a bit confusing at first read (or I'm an idiot... V possible) and I think this book is one the reader needs to get to know to fully absorb all the info. Several reads maybe.I think nk if you're a dedicated alkaline lifestyle follower - and with time on your hands! - this is deffo for you.Otherwise, the reader can simply take from it what he or she can and build up to being a more serious alkalinist in time.Well done Julie Cove.

WOW, this book is amazing, lots of lovely visuals to inspire, and lots of knowledge, these ladies were ill and got well, they educated them selves in all things food and drink, such a lovely book , not too much writing .

Great source of information, beautiful photos
Just brilliant and beautiful photos too. Great informations, nice spirit. This book might be on the Christmas list for the people who read English around me.
