Very well thought out.
I really appreciate the ease of following the book and its places. The map that folds out is very helpful in figuring out what area you may want to stay.

Informative and compact. Perfect guide for traveling
These Fodor 25Best books are great. They are much more compact than standard guidebooks and fit easily in a back pocket, but have pretty much all the critically important tourist information. For Vienna this book has multiple maps (including one full size map that can be torn out of the book) and a metro system map. There are 8 sections in the book--the first is a basic overall chapter on "essential Vienna" and then there are more in depth sections on different neighborhoods in Vienna and one chapter on "farther afield," that is stuff to do and the outskirts and outside of Vienna. All of these sections include an area map, sights to see; and shopping, dining and nightlife recommendations.I really love this book. It has all the top tourist destinations in and around Vienna, but in a nice easy to carry book. I went to Vienna last Christmas and loved it, but we had a large travel guide on Europe which was cumbersome and heavy (though very informative.) This has pretty much all of that information, in a smaller package. I will say, I found it odd that much of the "farther afield" section was for attractions in the city of Vienna. Schloss Schonnbrunn and Prater funfair/ferris wheel aren't that far from the city center, just a few metro stops. There are several suggestions of places legitimately outside of Vienna in that section (Bratislava, anyone?) but those two made me scratch my head. I guess the book is primarily focused on the city center attractions (of which there are many!)In general, I highly recommend this book (and most others in the same line). They are informative but don't weigh 8 pounds, which is great!

Wanna go to Vienna, like me? Here's your book! Great little Vienna travel guide.
I want to go to Vienna REALLY badly. While I can't get there right now, this Fodor's Vienna 25 Best (Full-color Travel Guide) is excellent to peruse to get a good idea on what to see and where to go when I do finally get there (and I will!) - even if it's just something I'm dreaming about right now. While this is technically a paperback book, it's plasticized in a way where it's very durable and easy to keep clean on the covers, and it's small enough to stick in your pocket or purse. It's sturdy and doesn't warp easily, even when you're thumbing and flipping through it repeatedly over time. The photos are very colorful and bright, and I love the tidbits of info in this about the best of Vienna. This is not, however, a travel guide for anything outside of Vienna, however. That said, it has great maps and lots of helpful information to help you on your way when you're traveling, and I like the quality of this travel guide on the whole. It's definitely a fun one to flip through while trying to form a good itinerary of what you want to see and where - and I can't wait to travel to Vienna now to explore it, thanks to this book! Love it!

Very Good Guide to the City of Vienna
The book covers only Vienna so this is a very good guide for a visit to Vienna. It has colorful maps with overview, sites, etc. There are top sites, walking tours, restaurant recommendations, lodging, transport, etc. This is an excellent book for planning at home & taking with you as you tour the city. The maps are good for planning & having with you while visiting. There is a pull-out Vienna map that is very useful and a U-Bahn/S-Bahn (subway/rail) map. This is a lovely book & well-organized with good information. It is small enough to take with you & easy to use.
