Gets your brain working.

Great! It helps if you have a little bit of knowledge regarding quantum physics otherwise just read it a bit slower. It is an eye opener forcing you to read and then go back a few pages to refresh your memory. The illustrations are not really suitable for the Kindle edition but that’s a minor point. I've read a lot about quantum science but this book looks outside the box and makes your brain hurt by opening new pathways for you to think about. Am full of praise for this author. I give it 4 stars, deserves a 5 but nothing is perfect.

Entertaining, Engaging and Accessible Physics Book

This book provides a fantastic and well-written introduction into some key physics concepts, from quantum mechanics to the structure of our universe. And of course, all the many MANY things we do not know about these things. As someone else here has written, sometimes the book does try a bit *too* hard to be zany, but for the most part the weird and wonderful cartoons and examples (often involving ferrets in bizarre scenarios) actually help understand some of the concepts being discussed. Or at least, keep it light enough to keep you fully engaged.Certainly worth a read for anyone with even a passing interest in how this magnificent universe works (or doesn't - who knows...)

How would I know..

A very interesting book. The topics covered in this book succeed at explaining often complex/abstract/theoretical subjects in a fairly simple way.I've always had few of these ideas/questions wandering about in my head ever since I was a young teen. And now, an almost a PhD graduate in toxicogenomics, and still physics never fails to amuse me!A big bonus is me being a big fan of Jorge's PhD comic strips as well. After all, what do I know..

The greatest book ever written

Can't tell you how much I love this book. The biggest ideas and concepts in the universe communicated in a clear, simple, fun and comical way. Passed in on to my 13 year old son who is reading it for fun and loves it too. No maths required, just a sense of humour and slight curiosity about how the world works.

Great reading, greater physics!

Have always enjoyed physics, really laugh at the comics and I'm a historian so always happy to read another book... buying this was a treat to myself, but I hoped not a gamble and that it certainly turned out not to be. It's a great read, interesting and zany with such a colourful approach to physics that I've recommended it to some physics teachers and engineering lecturers I know to use for their students! A great job, looking forward to the follow up!
