DIRECTV 2 Pack RC73 IR/RF Remote Control

So far, so good. Came in a package just as if it arrived from DIRECTV. Remote, two batteries, labels for back of remote to say which room it was from and the Genie Remote Guide. I was hoping I could just point it at the tv and it would magically program itself, but I had to do these steps. I have a five year old Samsung tv. With my old remote I turned on the tv and box. Then I pointed the new remote at the genie client box, pressing Mute and Enter simultaneously. The remote blinked green twice. I don’t know if this step was necessary because I had to do more work to get it working. Next I used my old remote to go to menu, e-manual, contact Samsung. On the screen it showed me a bunch of numbers associated with my Tv. I copied down the model code, which started with UN. Next when I asked tv to program the remote, it sent me to ‘program tv’ and I typed in S for Samsung. When I got that screen it wanted the model number. I had to type in UN. You would think it would let you scroll from AA to ZZ, but no. You have to get closer to your model number to scroll. At some point it took over searching to find the match in the 66 options for UN, then said Did it work? I pressed the volume control on the brand new remote and it actually worked, so programming was successful. I hope it is easier for the rest of you guys. BTW, I had tried to order a free one from DIRECTV but after 15 minutes online logging in, being redirected to login again, having to reset a password, sent in loops to the beginning, asked to reset my just set password, I said, screw you. It took only 5 seconds to order this from Amazon. I gave ATT/DIRECTV a bad review and told them why I went to Amazon and paid for this instead. Two for about $8, not bad. I guess it’s time to buy a TiVo or such and cancel ATT/DIRECTV.

To get these from your provider, mine is DTV, they costs twice as much as these and these work perfectly. I bought two just to have a spare. One thing you need to know is you cant always control your tv volumn with these if you have a sound bar. One of my sound bars wont sync as in Sony cant find it in the list so I must use the volumn control for the sound bar. My visio sound bar and my other Sony TV no problemo this remote controls the volumn. PS: I've been getting promod from DTV about a new Gemini box that allows you to control apps and tv channels. The catch, it does not replace the Genie box, its another ad on, you need one for each tv and I have four tv's and only the first one is free of charge for one year then you pay rent. Spectrum Cable has also gotten on this bandwagon to and has there own new box. Just another way to make more money off you.

I have Direct TV Genie. The remotes were getting worn and not working. These are compatible and exactly same model as DTV gave me with my system. These are very affordable and very easy to connect with my tv. It comes with easy to install instructions. Very well made and durable.

I ordered the Direct TV 2pack RC73 IR/RF Remote Controls. I received both remotes - each with a set of brand new batteries - in record time (Prime) and both undamaged and at least one in perfect working condition. My husband continuously drops the remote off of the arm of his recliner..Uggghhh - so I will end-up using both for the same TV when he ends up tearing this one up...Uggghhh again! Needless to say, both of these remotes will come in handy and both for under $10...A COMPLETE BARGAIN! As far as setup....there was no setup. Meaning, when I installed the batteries and pushed one button on the remote, my Samsung QLED TV picked up the signal, on-screen instructions popped-up for me to hold down the mute button & the Enter button at the same time and Voila ~> like magic...my new remote worked...just - like - that! So I give it approximately 8 - 10 - 15 months max, and I’ll be installing the batteries in the other remote ; )

Impressed! I had 2 Direct TV Genie remotes that were no longer working. One of them could not be programmed for RF, and the other was not working at all. I dreaded calling DTV for replacements, having to waste my time on hold, explaining the issues to a customer service person that would want to walk me through all the troubleshooting (which I had already done many times, etc.) I surfed over to Amazon and saw this 2 pack for the unbelievably low price of $7.30. I ordered on a Friday night, and with Prime they were delivered on Monday- Labor Day! I couldn't be happier. These are not knock offs, as I was expecting for this low price. They are Direct TV original equipment with the new ATT/DTV logo. They each come with the 2 AA batteries required, and worked right out of the box. I was immediately able to program them to RF and pair them with our Samsung and TCL televisions, and my Bose and RCA sound systems, which I had not been able to do with my previous Genie remotes. My wife is extremely happy now that she only has to find one remote now to turn the TV on and off and raise and lower the volume. If you need to replace your Genie remotes, or simply would like extras for backups, you cannot beat the value!

Imagine being able to get something you need for DIRECTV without having to spend hours on the phone and/or waiting up to 4 hours for them to come! DIRECTV remote back broke and, dreading having to do so, I started to call DIRECTV for a replacement. Last time I did so, my remote request turned into an hour phone call, being told I would have to pay for a new remote but that I could upgrade my equipment for free. What a deal, right?? Not so it turned into an 8 hour service call!!! As I picked up the phone I thought why not see if Amazon had a replacement. To my surprise, I found the EXACT same DIRECTV remote, not a universal brand but DIRECTV! I found 2 for the price DIRECTV would have charged me for one! I ordered them, received them in 2 days, put the batteries in and it worked perfectly! All for less that five minutes total time spent to complete the purchase, open the envelope, install the batteries and press the button on my new remote. I also now have a spare in case on of the others were to go bad. Life was beautiful and I felt as if I had hit the lottery.
