Clippers themselves are good, sharp and string. The file is pretty useless really. Maybe ok for little dogs.

The guard to not cut too much of the nail is too far back and doesn't really work. If used it it would cut far too much. Thankfully it just swings out the way.

Really easy to use and they have cut my dogs nails really easily , would recommend these to any one needing to cut their pets nails. The handles give nice grip and I like the safety device upon closing

I'm not sure what is it but they just don't cut very well.Over the years I've had several clippers but these are pretty low down the list.When closing to clip the nails the latch kept going locking the clipping closed, its almost as if they are extremely old or rusty as very hard to open and close.They cut, not very well leaving broken nails or rips. Which is where the file comes in handy but that's a little work OK.

These are great for dogs, easy to use and sharp enough to cut there nails!
