I watched a video on YouTube that showed how to attach a USB hub in series with the power adapter of a Firestick, enabling connection of a wireless mouse and keyboard. The particular USB hub was no longer available so I purchased this one. Works great. Using the Firestick controller to select items or characters without one is agonizingly slow at times. My new mouse makes it a breeze. My new keyboard makes using Silk so much easier!

Does everything else but charges when switched to that mode.

tldr; even if you get a unit with all the components it might not work, if a few bucks is worth the risk, go for it. Was going to use for setting up a few raspberry pi zeros, but neither mouse nor keyboard worked so I tested them with another cable and they both worked fine. So I opened it up to look at the circuit board and sure enough there was a resistor missing, so I soldered one on based off a schematic I found and it worked, sort of... only the mouse works (both ports), my keyboard still doesn't work at all, either port, alone or with the mouse... I understand cheaper products will have some cases where there are missing components, but come on, the board only needs 4 components.

I have bought many for our robotics team. I have 5 that has one side or the other that does not work. Seems to be of very poor quality.
