Great for hobby use
Was concerned seeing reviews that it was cheap and didn't work, but it has been working great for my needs. Made about 200 buttons out of trading cards. Tip for people who want to try something similar: if you are making buttons out of trading cards, do not cut the card to wrap around inside the pin. Cut the card to be 1.25" and tape it with thin double-sided tape to the middle of a 1.75" circle cut out of thin printer paper. That way the thin printer paper will be the only thing wrapping inside the button. It will not work if you try to cut the card to be 1.75".For the price it does what I need it to do, if you want to do this professionally, get a sturdy metal name-brand one. But if it's just for a hobby it's great.

Easy DIY pins
My kids loved it! I was a little hesitant to buy cause of some reviews, I did mess up a couple of them trying to figure it out. But once I did it was so easy to make and I love that my kids can custome make them for everyone.

Sturdy but temperamental
I've been using this button press for three years now, and it's still going strong. It's not suitable for quick succession, though, because you have to put the metal backings in a very specific way, press VERY hard, and press down from a very specific part of the lever. You will get more consistent results if you place the back super gently by holding on by the pin part and gently setting it down in the press. Don't push it down while placing it, or else it will get lodged in place and fail. The parts spin a little when you're pressing, so you have to arrange the back at a slight angle so that it spins into a place that's more horizontal with your art.You have to press down very hard and steadily from the middle of the lever for best results. It'll still fail on occasion even following these instructions, but it's a lot more reliable than if you don't use these steps.Deducting a star because of this temperamental nature, but overall I'm pleased with it. The plastic is a lot stronger than it seems.

Great for making buttons!
After you get used to it, the button maker is easy to use. Some of the buttons that it came with were defective but I reached out and Amazon sent me replacements. I’m very pleased with the way the buttons look.

Simple Badge Maker
Fast shipping/ Received next day. This lightweight pin/button maker comes with everything you need to make fun creative pins/buttons minus the printer. I used an inexpensive inkjet printer and free online software to print my art. As long as you follow the directions on how to use the machine you will have little chances of making a defective button.Note: Order the supplies that go with this specific machine. I tried metal products from other stores and they do not work properly. So far this one is my favorite!

Some things to learn
This is my first button machine and I was originally wary of the plastic backs but they work just fine.I made a lot of mistakes learning how to use it but I think I figured it out.1. You have to make sure there's only one plastic covering or it won't press onto the plastic back. Even when you think there's 1 there's probably 2 there. Once I found that out it stared working great.2. I moved onto pokemon cards that were cut to the same size as the metal button top. I found that they started to 'bubble' and tear away from the fold. I realized it was because there wasn't another layer preventing the metal from cutting the bare plastic. So I started adding a plastic covering then the card and then another plastic piece and they work great...this uses a lot of the plastic coverings but you can use a cut piece of paper or something thin under the picture and it works too... it's just hard to center when you can't see the button.

Works great for a little bit
When it works..... this is great! But it didn't work for long. It only lasted about 25 buttons then the cutter quit working. Everything else was great but when you can't cut what you want for pics it doesn't matter.

Easy to use, good quality
I was looking for a craft to make as freebies for a convention I’m going to later this year, stumbled across the idea of button making and this was the first product I found upon searching. Easy to set up and easy enough to use. It can be a bit finicky to line up the back just right, but after a few trial attempts I was able to figure it out. The 2.25 size is a larger than I was expecting, but just keep image quality in mind. More than enough supplies was provided for what I need it for
