ChestBrew Moon Bear – Strong Smooth Vietnamese Whole Bean Coffee, 20 oz

Just got the Chestbrew Moon Bear coffee beans today! I was so excited to see the Amazon box waiting for me. The beans arrived in perfect condition! Couldn't be happier with the new packaging! To be honest, I was thinking of purchasing this a few months ago but the reviews of how the beans exploded in the box made me hesitate until now. I love the look of the bag and especially the brewing instructions on how to brew for hot, cold, and iced. From the moment I opened the bag, I could tell the beans were perfect. From the wonderfully sweet fragrant aroma of the coffee beans to the rich chocolate color of the glistening beans. Even though it was already so late in the day to have coffee, I just couldn't wait to try it. I quickly grounded some beans, boiled some water, and took out the cafe phin (bought especially for these beans). And as expected, it was delicious. Sweet, smooth, and surprisingly not acidic at all. I can't wait to make a cold brew with these beans. Thank you Chestbrew for providing quality beans. And for giving back to the people who take such care in making the beans so great! Your product, your vision, and your commitment to the people behind the product will be something I will support! If you like coffee, you HAVE to try these beans. If you don't like coffee, these beans will change your mind.

Fantastic coffee flavor that gets me going with no heartburn effects at all. I fine grind it and run it through my Mr Coffee and it's delicious with a touch sugar and equal and creamer and it's perfectomundo!

This coffee has a smooth, full taste but depending on your palate will strike you as "not bold" if you're used to City Roast boldness and nothing near a Italian roast. Typically I prefer dark roasts of the sorts like Valhalla from Death Wish and Maj. Dickerson from Peets to give a couple of examples, and this isn't as bold as those roasts are. It is however a good "floral" bold flavor, with dark, oily beans that were evenly roasted. My bag produced a decent bloom upon being ground and brewed. I can't speak for how well it stands up to cream/sweetener as I drink my coffee black, but it did do well with a cold brew as well; though again it's not as bold in taste as the two example profiles above. It is however a pleasant change of pace and I am likely to order it again every now and then. Something that I always like to see with products like this are resealable bags that actually seal tightly once you squeeze out the air, the zip line did a great job of keeping the air out in between loadings of the grinder, something I can't say as often as I'd like, and its a solid step up from the cheap roll and secure with bending wire many opt for.

These are by far the best coffee beans I have purchased. They are a very rich flavor and they are better Dunkin or Starbucks. Highly recommend.

I was looking for a stronger coffee, bean for a Vietnamese coffee. This was a suggestion under one that I was looking for and I ordered it. Has a great taste, strong caffeine within the bean which is great and overall really enjoy this and I will be ordering it again.

This wasn't bad. I'm not going to buy it again though, not worth the price per pound. I used it to make both hot and cold brew coffee. It just didn't have that oomph, or any type of noticable coffee taste. It definitely had a bit of caffeine though, but it didn't make up for the lack of flavor. Instead I'm going back to buying a reasonably priced Columbian that is -25% cheaper and tastes 300% better (with all of it's coffee oily goodness and other chocolately coffee rich tastes).

I've been using Chestbrew Whole Bean Coffee for over 4 years now, and it never disappoints! The flavor is incredibly smooth. I brew it in my French press at a water temperature of 185 degrees F. The aroma is simply delightful and fills the kitchen with a rich, inviting scent. If you're a coffee lover looking for a consistently great cup, this is definitely the one to try. Highly recommend!

This is a great coffee! The roast level is spot on for my taste, and shows complexity and great flavor. Expect earthy notes, mocha notes, medium body and balance. Try proper French press technique for this.
