Perfect for my home welding project
This stock holds a nice arch even with my little welder, doesnโt get stuck on the surface and doesnโt burn through. I use the 3/32 7014 for 1/8โ mild steel and repairing rusty metal boat trailer frame and it does great with both. Get the 1/16 for attaching nuts to thin sheet formed metal parts of my lawn tractor and it doesnโt over slag the threads or burn through the thin sheet goods in repairing. Hallelujah I can weld almost nice looking welds with this even though Iโm an untrained novice with a cheap welding machine! Playing with the bottom of the amperage range on my machine also helps! Lower amps makes better welds on thin material and the 7014 takes a nice steady arc and bread on low power welds and sticks my parts together very Nicely. For instance instead of 80 amps on 3/32 I use more like 65 and keep a very short arc, takes practice to strike a low power arc but the 7014 does it.

Very easy to run, start, and slag removal
As a hobbyist welder, I wanted to try these. Most of the videos you see on youtube are about 6010/11, 6013, or 7018. Just came across a video on 7014, which I didn't know existed (hey, I'm a home hobbyist welder!), and thought I'd see the difference. Previously, 7018 was the easiest for me to run, but this has replaced them. Very low spatter, super easy to start, and the arc is very forgiving. Slag is easy to remove as well. Was able to run them as low as 60a on my lincoln AC 225.

Good all around
you can't go wrong with 7014. if you're a Newbie skip the infamous 6013 and 7018 and start with this. so much easier to strike an arc and maintain a weld. Forney rods are top notch.

easier to use for a novice welder
I'm not professional welder but I can weld good enough. I have a Lincoln 225 Tombstone AC only, I have tried many rods over the years with it- 6011,6013,7018AC,7014. The 3/32 7014 is easy to use and my favorite, 1/8 inch - 3/16 inch mild steel plate @ 60 -100 amps. To weld thicker steel I would go with a 7014 - 1/8 size rods or 5/32 size rods at a higher amperage. Follow the recommendations by the manufacturer on this.
