My old remote got dropped and shattered. I didn't want to spend $50 for a new one and got on Amazon to see if there was anything out there that would work with my box. This was easy to set up, although there were a few issues with getting the volume control set up. After a few rounds of doing the same thing over again and unplugging my box a few times, it finally worked though. I'm very happy with the performance and range of this remote for the price and would highly recommend you try it if you need to replace your remote as well.

We had lost our remote for our Apple TV so I checked on Amazon and came up with this item. Straight out of the package I put in batteries and it worked great! It is an IR remote but that’s OK, the original is Bluetooth. Which works at any angle.

Only had for a few days but when you first pick it up it feels cheaply made. It does require batteries unlike the Apple TV remote. The setup was quick and easy. Very easy to control. Power turns the TV off. Holding the menu button down you can put the Apple TV to sleep. Only thing I really hate is I cant turn down the volume on my bluetooth ear buds which the Apple TV remote would do. Navigation is a bit easier with this remote than the OEM remote but its also harder to scroll through a tv show to get to a spot but not that big a deal. Its a good remote for the money and works well but nothing amazing

This remote is great! My husband greatly disliked the original Apple remote especially the trackpad for skipping ahead.When I found this I was super excited. Literally did not have to do anything to set it up except pop in two AA batteries. Clicked the button and it immediately controlled my Apple TV box.Set up to pair it it to my Sanyo TV literally took 10 seconds - just had to hold down two buttons on the remote and press ok.I love that I can now power off the TV and control the Apple TV using only one remote. The “mute” button is a great feature as well.I also like that it’s a larger than the original Apple TV remote - harder to lose! :)Excellent price point as well.

It’s not like your Apple remote where you can use your thumb to skip and scroll. It’s click-buttons to select or exit an app, and control volume. Nothing fancy, but it works if you lose your real remote. I’m going to just spend the $ for a real remote though—it’s just meh. Has a hard time sending the signal if you have a bag of Cheetos in front of your Apple TV box.

I finally got sick of my Apple TV touchpad remote and was looking for an alternative remote - this one is great. It controlled my Samsung TV (bought in 2009) right out of the box and took a few simple steps to pair with my Apple TV. The only things that are missing are (a) bluetooth connectivity so that I don't have to always point the remote at the Apple TV and (b) a rechargeable battery. But for $16 it was worth every penny - the silicon case fits perfectly and the original Apple TV touchpad remote is going in the trash.

I got this product and it worked for a little over month. Just long enough to be past the return period, before it stopped working. Contacted the seller about this and they kept sending messages on things to do that would not fix the problem. My advice spend a little extra and get a new Apple TV remote. This one is not worth it.

The AppleTV remote with touchpad makes me crazy. This brings back original functionality and it is flawless. The only thing really lacking is the microphone input for search. I keep the original remote handy for that, otherwise, much easier and more reliable to control with buttons.
