With the price of vanilla reaching stratospheric heights, I was excited to see the very reasonable price for these vanilla beans. I opened them right away to start my Christmas baking and I was not disappointed. They're fragrant, fresh * vacuum-packed so they arrive in good condition.

I finally decided that it was time to make my own vanilla extract. I was no longer comfortable paying what the grocery store was charging. So, I bought a bottle of my husband’s favorite ‘cheap’ whiskey, added half the package of beans to it, recapped the bottle and stuck it in the back of my cabinet. After 8 weeks, I pulled it out to take a look. The color of the liquid had significantly changed and the smell was amazing! What I Loved: Amazing fragrance: The instant you break the seal on the package you are hit with the sweet buttery vanilla aroma. Moist & Pliable pods: The beans are soft and packed with caviar – exactly what you want when making extract. Balance of quality vs. value: Organic, non-GMO packaging, plump beans – perfect for anyone serious about real vanilla. I used it in some pancake batter at the eight-week mark and it was just as good as the store bought. I decided to leave the beans in the bottle and just see how much better it can get. This means that for less than $40 usd I have just under 60 ounces if vanilla extract that will continue to get better over time. And I still have about 12 beans to use for other purposes. (Be sure to appropriately seal and store any left overs.) This means it cost me under $0.70 usd per ounce from organic Madagascar beans and whiskey from a manufacturer I trust. The cheapest I can currently find as of today for similar is $4.50 usd per ounce. Things to remember: Vanilla Beans are from a plant. No two beans are alike. The bean size and plumpness will vary. Be attentive to the grade of beans you purchase. These are Grade B beans, some will be slim or even split – That is normal. Takeaways: Whether you are crafting homemade extract, making an infusion, vanilla sugar, or enhancing the flavor of a dish, these beans are stellar! Plus, they are organic, vacuum-sealed for freshness and – dare I say – add a little luxe to your pantry without breaking the bank. Ordered once to make vanilla extract, but decided to make vanilla paste instead because the beans were so nice! Very plump and moist with a strong smell and taste. Ordered again and have vanilla extract going now. Will definitely order again!

I have made vanilla and also home-made Amaretto liqueur with these beans and the flavor is great. I gave this only 4 stars because I was a little disappointed with the size of the beans - they are quite small compared to others I have purchased.

I bought a package of these at the sale price and they were so good I got another one. The beans were very nice well packaged, very fresh, moist and not dried out at all. This was a very good deal and would order from this seller again which I did.

The smell is VERY earthy and woody in a way that pairs great with the scent of vanilla. Not only are these more fresh AND far better in flavor and aroma than store bought ones but theyre about 10x cheaper. You're getting 26 for 25$ (keep in mind 1 individual vanilla beans in this pack is about 2 inches longer than the store bought ones) as opposed to the kind at the grocery store which go for about 18$ for only 2 of them. Buy online. Better in every way😎

I have ordered a LOT of different grade B beans in the past to make extracts and other concoctions. One thing I typically expect with grade B is for them to be hard as a rock (okay - maybe not that hard), brittle and good for extracts but not for baking etc. since you can't get the caviar out. These are marked grade B but they are similar to when I have purchased grade A vanilla beans. They are a little bit drier than some of the grade A ones I have purchased but not by much. The packaged beans are still moist inside, fully flexible and the caviar still soft. Some some of them will be used for extract but we are keeping about half set aside for doing some baking (desserts!) over the coming holiday season. Very happy with the quality of these vanilla beans.

I am very happy with these Beans. I am using them to make Homemade Vanilla. I started my Vanilla back in November and the Vanilla aroma is amazing! I can barely smell the Vodka already and it has only been 2 months. Good quality Beans. I was not entirely sure what to expect, but am very happy with the purchase. There was a total of 1.5oz of beans. It's a bit pricey but there was no where local to me I could purchase, so I wanted to give these a try before sourcing bulk options elsewhere if I decided that making Vanilla is something I feel is worth it. I now know, the answer is already yes. Can't wait to see how this turns out after 12 months!
