No whistle when installed.

This simple gas line changed everything! When we bought the house, gas fire log was in place, and after testing it for leak, we used it a couple of time: Whistle noise was just unbearable, even with gas flow at the lower position. We bought a new gas line at a local hardware store, specifically designed for gas log. That was a waste of time an money: same horrible whistling noise, we had to return it.We decided to give a last chance before converting back the fireplace to wood burning, and order the Dreffco 1/2" x 24" Non-Whistle Flexible Flex Gas Line for NG or LP from Dreffco. We are so glad we did: It works perfectly fine: no more noise AT ALL !!A quick way to see is your line is whistling: just blow air in with your mouth, no whistling = your are good to go.I wish my husband did not throw away the old line, I could have done a video so you could hear the difference ;-)

It is somewhat expensive, but it did solve the whistle problem that we were having with our gas logs. This line has 1/2" Flared fittings on both ends. It comes with one 1/2" Flare to 1/2" NPT adapter to connect to your gas supply line. I had to go to Home Depot and buy an adapter for attachment to my gas logs (that was only 3/8" Flare). That added another $5 to the cost. If it was a little less expensive (~$20), I would have given it five stars.

This seems a little expensive for a gas line at first, but it's even more expensive to buy a cheaper one at the store and then replace that one with this one like I did. The standard gas appliance connector I used on my fire pit made an intolerable whistling noise, even at low gas flows. No whistle at all with this one.

Works Great, just as described, used it n my outdoor natural gas fire pit, the other supply line rusted away!! The pit was up and working in under an hour... NO whistling at all even went on full power..

I used this on a homemade fire pit in my back yard, and it made all the difference.I had previously bought a flexible stove/fireplace gas line from Lowes and got a terrible whistling when the valve was turned over halfway open...I suspected the burner ring at first, but it was the hose, and this product worked exactly as advertised. No whistling issues, even with my gas line cranked wide open.
