I build my own filtration systems and these in a net bag along with filters. Great value. Very dusty compared to others I've purchased but a couple of swishes in old aquarium water and they were ready to use.

Every fluval product I have owned, it always came with the bio media. Mine last a year and a half before I had to change it. Although I did not realize it is suppose to be changed once every 6 months. Will not go so long next time.

Easily fills the whole tray in my cascade can filter, id say the perfect amount, any more and it won’t fit. Always use these for the first stage of filter, lasts years and years! Simple and easy to use, just place and it’ll do the job for you. Extends the life of the sponge filter and filter floss greatly so you don’t have to clean it too often
