Bright, Reliable, and Great Quality These Philips BR30 LED bulbs are excellent. They provide bright, even lighting with a warm, natural color that works perfectly in our recessed ceiling fixtures. They turn on instantly with no flickering or warm-up time, and the brightness is a great replacement for traditional 65W bulbs while using much less energy. The 6-pack is a great value, and Philips has always been a reliable brand for lighting. Installation was quick and easy, and all six bulbs worked perfectly right out of the box. Very happy with the quality and would definitely purchase again!

Philips LED BR30 Warm Glow Dimmable 650-Lumen, 2700-2200 Kelvin, 9-Watt (65-Watt Equivalent) Flood Light Bulb, E26 Medium Base, Soft White, 6-Pack -- Excellent bulbs and the closest to an incandescent-look I have been able to find. Bulbs have a nice color when full-on and gradually warm as they dim, just as an incandescent does. I've been slowly replacing all the can light bulbs in the house (and even the standard bulbs) with these as they run much cooler than the old CFLs / incandescents, have superb dimming capabilities, pleasing color temperature, lower power consumption and of course last much longer. I have tried other LEDs such as Feit (not so great), Cree (kinda pricey) and GE (pricey and give off a bit of heat) and have found these are the best bang for the buck especially with the "Warm Glow" color temperature-changing feature. I have mine on z-wave in -wall dimmers for automation and have experienced no flicker issues though, flickering is typically due to the "trim" on the dimmer and not caused by the bulb (except for super cheap bulbs). On circuits controlling up to 7 bulbs at one time these will kick on at about 5% but will dim down to roughly 2%. With a higher load (an incandescent popped into one of the sockets) they will come on at and dim down to ~2%. Keep in mind many dimmer switches to require a certain load value in order to dim completely and if there is flickering check the "trim" function of the dimmer, although not all are adjustable. I've only had to adjust trim on one dimmer but I think that is due to having only one bulb on the circuit (low load value) so, that particular bulb kicks on at ~10% but will dim down to ~5% before shutting off. I have several installed in the outside soffits and are set to come on (z-wave switch) dimmed at 15% at sundown and turn off at sunrise (they go to quickly fade up to full power when one of the exterior motion sensors is activated) which provides for safety and attractive curb appeal. These have been running outside for about a year in the Pacific Northwest (cloudy, rainy, salt water, "temperate marine" zone, occasionally down to freezing in Winter and up to the mid-80's F / low 90's F in Summer) with no degradation or issues but of course, they are in the soffits which provide protection. Using an wall-plug z-wave dimmer I've found they dim down to roughly 1% and pop on at around 3%-4% so it definitely depends on the type/model/brand of dimmer switch. Overall, these are the best dimmable LEDs I have been able to find. Highly recommended.

These BR30 bulbs work well with OnQ ALC 600W Dimmers (installed in 2002 now owned by Stewart Electronics). We installed an OMNI PRO II Smart House Controller and ran ALC communication wire to these dimmers during construction. They are very expensive, so there was no way we would change them out for LED Bulbs. The Philips Bulbs dim just like Tungsten BR30 bulbs, and they designed in a Color Shift to change to a warmer color as they DIM. We use two to Splash the Wall behind Flat Screen TV (Vaulted Ceiling) and on a separate Dimmer Flood the ROOM with 4 more (6 Total). The Beam Width is wider than 65W BR30s, but the color shift is well worth using them.The 65Watt Tungsten were dimmed to 40% to watch Flat Screen TV, the programming was changed to reduce intensity to 25% (even down to 18% gives a nice warm glow that floods the wall). These are used in HALO 7" CANs with Eyeball Trim, pointed to wall and Beams. The LED Bulbs are instant ON, and no buzzing at any intensity, which is very impressive. LED Bulb buzzing (some brands at full intensity) is simply unacceptable when working in a quiet environment or while watching a movie. The only flickering observed occurred when dimmed and GE Advantium Oven (230 VAC, 30 AMP Circuit) cooking with Halogen Lights. LED have very fast "Rise Times" with voltage spikes, and no doubt Philips has used filtering circuits not only to full wave rectify AC (to prevent flicker from 30Hz or even 60Hz), but to reduce line voltage variations in general since no other flickering has occurred while dimmed. Philips has sold us on its color warming shift technology, monitoring Dimmer input. Technology must be shifting to warmer LEDs in response to dimmer, unlike dimming normal LEDs which never change Color Temperature. We will be purchasing more of these for 2700° BR30 65Watt replacements. Well done Phillips!

I was definitely wary of getting these bulbs because a few of the reviews say the 'new' model that's sold here (the model number ends in a 'B', which is what I received) have problems with strange behavior when brightening or dimming, or when turning on or off. These seem to work well, and the warm glow effect is definitely present from full brightness and getting more pronounced as they dim. For reference, I use a Lutron Sunnata touch dimmer with these, and use the same dimmer with some A19 Philips warm glow bulbs. These BR30 bulbs smoothly brighten or dim without any "jumping" around in light output. The effect is definitely more pleasant than generic dimmable BR30s I got from a big box store. I can't speak to their longevity as I just installed them, but if they start failing, I'll update this review. They're usually not one for more than one to two hours per day in my usage, so hopefully these last a long time. However, the bulbs do take a second to turn on to whatever brightness you have selected, and also take a second to fade out when turning off. I'm used to this as the A19s behave somewhat the same way (they take a second to turn on, but are a little quicker to turn off in comparison to the BR30s). Personally, this isn't an issue because I'm used to the effect -- but the on/off behavior is something other reviewers have mentioned and is something you should consider. If you experience weirdness dimming these bulbs, something that might help is using an LED-minded dimmer. Finally, here's what to expect when you order these: they'll arrive to you in a Philips-branded box, sealed with Philips-branded tape, and inside you'll have six individually boxed bulbs in Philips packaging. Summary: These are a darn sight better than regular dimmable BR30 LEDs, though they take a second to turn them on and off. If your dimmer allows it, adjust it for highest and lowest brightness you desire in order to make the best use of the warm glow effect.

I really wanted to replace all my recessed incandescent floods with these. I was liking the idea of lower operating costs, less heat, and fewer bulb changes in high ceiling cans. This is a solid product, but the dimming doesn't go low enough for me. So close....But the incandescents are going back in. Too bad. Lots of pros: - No flicker at any brightness - Smooth dimming effects - No hum at any brightness - Warmth does increase as brightness drops. Very nice feature. - Full brightness is above what I was getting on 65W incandescents. These look like they are pumping out 75-80w equivalent. The box says 650 lumens, but I'd guess that they are doing 800. One big con: - The dimmed brightness goes nowhere near as low as with the incandescents. 10% brightness on these is equivalent to 40% brightness on the old 65W GE Miser incandescent floods. I compared these directly to 65w incandescents in the same room (On seperate circuits, of course.) No question - Much brighter at full brightness, but also much brighter dimmed. A little bit less warm in color at all levels, but not something you would notice if you weren't looking at them side-by-side. I'm using Leviton LED capable WiFi controlled dimmer switches with the latest software updates, so I doubt a switch change will yield a better result. My switches can be programmed to limit the max brightness, so telling Alexa to set the lights to 100% isn't blinding with the extra light these produce, but I also like to dim the lights way down late at night - These just don't get there.

These are great. I replaced ones that annoyingly flickered with these. They have a nice soft light and dim well. Color is good and soft without the flickers. Last a long time and fit just right. Good value and functional

Like another reviewer recently mentioned, these lights have now changed (at least BR30 has) and the 'new' version is terrible. You can identify the new version by the box (in the picture, the old good box is on the left and the new one is on the right). The new version also has a B after the model number. The new version does not dim properly, at least with Lutron Caseta dimmers I have. When turning on/off, the brightness changes a little, then a little more, then they pause half way, then finally go to full brightness or off. Very choppy. The old version of the bulbs do not do this. Even worse, they take about 2 seconds to turn on now. I mixed some of the old bulbs and new bulbs on the same switch to verify and sure enough, when turning on the switch, the old bulbs turned on instantly and the new bulbs turned on two seconds later. Is two seconds the end of the world? No, but if the old version didn't do this, then the new version clearly has problems. You can tell Philips is aware of this because if you compare the old box version to the new box, you can see they removed the 'Instant On/Off' from the box. They also take longer to turn off but that's less of an issue. You can see the warranty has also been reduced to 3 years. I really liked these bulbs, the old version, that I got from Amazon (5 year warranty box) so I ordered more but the new version is terrible. I ended up going to a big box store and they still had the old version available (no B in the model number) and bought them there. They are identical to the old version bulbs I got in my first Amazon order. And the big box store ones have a 10 year warranty! No reason at all to buy the 'new' version here, I'm sending this batch back to Amazon. Philips needs to go back to the non-B version of these bulbs. If you get a box of B bulbs, send them back.

Excellent bulbs that really do dim.

Replaced 12 bulbs in our downstairs living area. The light is warm and bright and so energy efficient now. One bulb draws 7.2 watts at a cost of .87 cents a year. The old bulbs were drawing 65 watts and lots of electricity to run them.

These lights are great. Definitely recommend. I have them on a dimmer and the dimming levels are really good for LEDs (much better than expected). I have other Dimmable LEDs that do not have anywhere near as wide of a range of light output as these do. 2700K outputs like a normal incandescent bulb. Never thought I would write so much about a light bulb.

Great lightbulb, bright and as described. However there are 2 of them that are not working. Been trying to reach out but heard nothing yet.
