It can hold comfortably approx. 20-35 pages. Maybe even 50 but it becomes too bulky ,as it is open 3 sides.

Can we write whiteboard marker on it and wipe?

Yes, u can use whiteboard marker and wipe with sanitiser or any acetone based cleaner...water may not give a clean surface.
