Touched by an Angel: The Complete Series

We recently started watching Touched by an Angel and then one day, we had to purchase a streaming service to continue. i was like NOPE! .... I was not prepared to stop watching this series... This show is about 3 angels (one is the Angel of Death) who go on missions as instructed by God to help humans learn how to love unconditionally and to do the right thing. It is Amazing and inspiring. It Speaks to the heart about tough subjects like loss of a loved one, evil in the world, dealing with addiction, learning to forgive yourself because God already has, temptation, self control, chronic illness, drunk driving, capital punishment, HIV, suicide, schizophrenia, and it even had an episode on the challenges of 9/11. They do not shy away from the tough issues. And because it is an older show there are some really top notch actors and singers on here. VERY impressed. Plus we got it not only for home, but when we RV and are remote, (with no reception), we can watch it. WE LOVE IT. Wish we had this when the kids were young. So many valuable lessons. Great for people of all ages (I would say down to even age 6-7. Many episodes there is the reveal (where the angel announces, I am an angel sent from God to help you and guide you), and it makes you ask, well, where is my angel? Well, we just finished one of the shows tonight where they went into the situation hoping they folks would never even know they were there. They just whispered in the person's ear. Just gave a nudge.... Our 20 yo son came in the room, said i don't wanna watch that, it's boring... There's no shooting, or good music and then we found we had to stop intermittently to answer his very good questions. He does in fact enjoy it!

I am so happy to have this series! When I first received these dvds I couldn't get them to play on my laptop. I purchased a dvd player that plugged into the side of a different laptop and they work so far. This is a great value. The picture quality is good, it was like watching on an old analog tv, just like I remember. I almost paid 3x this amount. So glad I didn't give up on these dvds.

I watched them all. They are nice to play when there's nothing good on TV to watch. Well worth it.

I loved this series...and I still do! Finally! Something I can watch on TV that isn't full of blood and gore and murder or just plain slapstick nonsense. The DVDs fit my player and they were/are all good quality. Zero problem with my purchase!

"Touched by an Angel" is perhaps my all-time favorite television series, and I'm grateful to own this entire collection of episodes. The scenery in each episode is stunning and beautiful. I've always appreciated how the beauty of nature is highlighted at the beginning and ending of each episode. (I believe that many of the episodes were filmed in Utah, which inspires me to want to travel there someday). The characters are both likeable and believable. As each of us may struggle to become a better person, there are also episodes (such as "Until Death Do Us Part" in Season 6), where we find the angels likewise struggling to be better, more holy, beings. The late John Dye was such a great actor in this series, and his role in that episode was especially good. Most importantly, the message of each episode is always inspiring and uplifting! Jesus Christ provided us with such commandments as "Love your neighbor as yourself", and this series provides 211 episodes where that happens. Hope is a wonderful gift from God and, with over 200 episodes, hope is something that each of us can enjoy and appreciate over and over again. In my opinion, this series deserves 5 stars. No argument at all. If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to include a (paper) guide which outlines each of the 211 episodes, with a brief summary of each. I suppose it could be called something like "Your guide to the Angels". :) Regardless, it would be helpful to have a short reference booklet to accompany this incredible series.

I received this said February 9. I've been trying to watch it. I can barely hear the dialogue. I'm going to try to find a sound bar or speaker that will amplify the sound so I can hear it. If that doesn't work, I will return the set. I wish the set had closed captioning. The series by far is excellent, but if I cannot hear it or understand the words that I do here, it's not worth much. I have a substantial DVD library that I can hear well enough to enjoy. Right now, I cannot recommend this set it to anyone. I will give it more stars with the caveat if I can find a device that lets me. Update: I did return this set. However, I bought the series as a packet and the sound quality was better than the box set.Then I bought a Polk sound bar with base that allowed me to increase just the voice volume and I am really enjoying the DVD's now. It's been a long time since I've enjoyed TV without closed captioning. I mention the Polk sound bar because it had 3 volume controls: volume/voice/base. That feature really works. It also lets you select what your watching (movies or music). I highly recommend it for music lovers as well as people with hearing loss.

All dvds working well - reduced stars due to color of labels & print - grey/silver combination is extremely negative - should not be like this - change for higher readability/contrast.

I was thrilled when I finally received the DVD-box. Unfortunately my excitement didn’t last long, because of the very bad quality of the discs. The episodes were unwatchable, with the brightness constantly changing for dark to bright (and back). I refunded the box, but because I’m from Europe I had to pay a lot of transport costs. The seller promised to refund everything, but that didn’t go as promised. In the end they still owe me more than € 50.

eine wunderschöne serie die leider in deutschland niemals ganz im tv gezeigt wurde. ich habe mir jetzt die serie in den usa bestellt und bin froh, dass ich alle folgen jetzt endlich einmal habe. die bildqualität der dvds ist nicht supergut aber durchaus der damaligen zeit entsprechend. der ton auf den dvds ist etwas leise. muss meinen fernseher lauter stellen als deutsche dvds. es handelt sich meist um einzelne geschichten, in denen die engel die menschen besuchen und ihnen auf ihrem weg zu gott oder gar in den himmel helfen. manche folgen haben auch fortsetzungen. ich kann es auf jeden fall empfehlen. wer bei "tolle unterhaltung" bestellt erhält die Box aus den USA über England und hat somit keinen Zoll zu entrichten. der kaufpreis ist somit wirklich der endpreis.

I didn't like this program much when I first discovered it, but when I started watching it properly (it's currently being shown on Freeview in the UK) and began to understand the relationship between the various Angels, I began to appreciate it and enjoy it. This is a huge collection and will take me months to watch all the episodes, but hey-ho, winter is approaching. Roma Downey is particularly wonderful in her role as the Angel "Monica", but all the main characters play their respective parts well. It's great to be able to watch something with a great message that can lift one's spirits and bring hope in a world full of pain. For Christians, who obviously believe in Angels (whether or not they appear in human form as in this series), it's a great delight to see them acting as messengers between our creator and His created beings. From what I have seen so far, I would definitely recommend this DVD set, with the only caution being that it is Region 1, so you will need a multi-region player for the UK.

If you are buying this from Amazon Australia, please note this series are USA region and cannot be viewed through Australia region 4, I had to pay $66 for a TV and Sound Professional to change my DVD into Region 0, so I can watch them, It will be good for future buyers to have these USA DVDs rated as "region Free"
