I was forgetting to change the setting when I left for work. I was very concerned that my electric bill would sky rocket so I bought a scheduler one. Sooo glad I bought this - the set up is.a breeze and far simpler than the other digital ones. The display could be a bit brighter but for the price i'll live with it being a little dark. Runs great to the planned schedule.

Easy to install Very clear instructions

Purchased this to replace an older, faulty thermostat of a differing brand. Installation and programming were very simple and straight forward. The directions in the packaging, regarding wiring and operation were very clear and easy to follow. I was up and running in less than 30 minutes. It's only been a few days, but the thermostat appears to be running flawlessly and, this could just be placebo effect, but my furnace appears to be functioning better as a result of this unit (more consistent, warmer air being produced) The Cons: The furnace filter feature is useless. Even if you change your filter regularly (which I always do!), but forget to change the settings in the thermostat to indicate you've changed it, the thermostat will stop working (to my understanding based on youtube reviews) until you reset the filter setting. What if you're away from home for a few days? Are your pipes going to freeze because you thermostat thinks your filter is dirty? How stupid! The swing setting is pointless. This is my fault for misunderstanding how it works, but I thought the swing setting just allowed the temp to dip a little lower in your home before telling the furnace to kick on, bringing the temp up to the desired programmed temperature. But it doesn't do that. Yes, it allows you to let the temp drop a little extra, BUT, when the furnace kicks on, it also raises the temperature an equal amount ABOVE the programmed temperature setting. For example. I have my thermostat programmed for heat at 63 degrees F. If I set the swing for 2 degrees, the thermostat kicks on at 61 degrees (as I want it to) but doesn't kick OFF until the home temperature reaches 65 degrees. Uhhhh, wut?????? No, bish, I want you to kick off at 63. THAT'S WHY I HAVE IT SET TO 63!!!!!!!!!! If I wanted you to kick off at 65, I would program the unit to kick off at 65. Thus, I find this feature pointless, as it just causes the furnace to run for a longer duration when it does kick on, negating any advantage of a wider temp drop. Finally, the face plate. An extra $10 for the cosmetic face plate? That's insulting. It's a little piece of plastic and you want $10 extra for that? It should be included. You can keep it! I deducted a star for this, the swing setting, and the furnace filter pointlessness. Other than these minor flaws, it's a nice, affordable programmable thermostat that is a little bit nicer than your bottom of the line Honeywell and other brands you would find at your local wally world.

Very easy to program The thermostat has good, tight, responsive control over my hot water radiator heating system. I installed two of them - one for each zone. They appear to be accurate. The display is not as bright as the marketing images indicate, but it is readable at close range without activating the backlight. The thermostat has all the features and simplicity I need. They have a nice clean appearance with instant changes possible by adjusting the exposed buttons. The access panel conceals the buttons which are less needed. Great product at a great price!

I bought and installed one of these in our other house before we moved. Loved it for many years. When we moved, our new place had an old mercury dial thermostat, that drove me nuts. I finally ordered a new LUX thermostat and love it. Much better accuracy, easier to read, and I can program 4 different settings per day, which at my age, I only use two per day. No more turning it down at night and up in the morning. Just program it and forget it ! What more can I say, I love it !!

Amazon Warehouse item review. The box was roughed up, but the thermostat inside looked brand new. No fingerprints. No dust. All manuals and papers were included and unopened. Screws still sealed in baggies. The LuxPro thermostat has quite a few steps to fully set up. But that's because it is so customizable. Time/temp when you wake up. Time/temp during the day when you are at work/school. (When most homes are empty) Time/temp when you come home from work/school. Time/temp when you go to bed. Then you have to do all the steps over for your 2-day weekend schedule. It's all pretty logical and easy to set up by reading the digital readout and using the up/down/next buttons. No app to download. No account to register for. Nothing to synch up. Everything is programmed with hard buttons on the thermostat unit. What I love most about this thermostat is that the face plate/guts of the thermostat fit exactly over the old 11-year old baseplate of my previous LuxPro thermostat. In my case, there was no need to swap out the wires. Just snap the new faceplate/guts on the old baseplate. DONE. Name-brand Energizer batteries are included and already installed. Just remove the plastic tab from the AA battery compartment and you're good to go. I was tempted to switch over to a Nest smart thermostat, but in the end, I figured, why mess with something that has worked for over a decade for me. If this LuxPro thermostat lasts me another +10 years, I'm fine with that track record from LuxPro.

works great. You can adjust the swing time (how much you want the temp to drop before it turns on and off). It comes set to 1, which is the most steady temp but turns on and off a lot more and you can go all the way up to 9 which will let the temp drop a few degrees before it turns on agin but also goes over the set temp a few degrees before it shuts off. I hope this one lasts more then a few years.

This is a must for anyone heating their house with GAS, our furnace would turn on and off all night and never heated up enough to turn on the Fans to the high setting because the furnace would shut down after running for 5-10 minutes and only run on low because our thermostat set at 65*F and would keep the temp between 65-65.9. I set the swing temp on this to 6 on the 1-9 scale and now our furnace works to its full capacity every time it is on, and only comes on a few times at night, now saving us propane, electricity, and wear and tear on the furnace and we keep the temp a 1*F hotter than before. We heat with wood, and use the furnace at night for back up as we live in Northern Ontario, its nice not having the furnace kicking on and off all night. This is an extremely user friendly programmable thermostat, and 1 call to them to confirm I was doing correct made the install even easier, excellent customer service. Here is an example the Lux Pro Rep provided for me. SWING SETTINGS: #1= 0.25° F +\- (from Set Temperature) #2= 0.50° F +\- (from Set Temperature) #3= 0.75° F +\- (from Set Temperature) #4= 1.00° F +\- (from Set Temperature) #5= 1.25° F +\- (from Set Temperature) #6= 1.50° F +\- (from Set Temperature) #7= 1.75° F +\- (from Set Temperature) #8= 2.00° F +\- (from Set Temperature) #9= 2.25° F +\- (from Set Temperature) Example: For tightest control, set swing setting on #1 which is plus or minus 0.25° F degrees. If you set the set point at 60° F, the highest it will get to is 60.25° F, the lowest it will get to is 59.75° F. Example: On swing setting #8, with a set point of 60° F, the temperature swing will is plus or minus 2.0° F degrees. The highest it will go to is 62.0° F and the lowest it will go to is 58.0° F. I've had this installed for over a year now. I love it. Really good deal with all of the features I want/need for the price. The features I use: - It can display in either Fahrenheit or Celsius, and I set mine to Celsius being a Canadian - It has both Weekday and Weekend programming - For either the Weekday (Monday-Friday) or Weekend (Sat & Sun) programming, you can set what the temperature should be for FOUR times throughout the day. - You can set a desired tolerance before furnace/air conditioning kicks in again. I set my tolerance at 2 degrees. So if my internal temperature is set to 20C, it will get down to 18C before the furnace kicks on again. You can set this tolerance to a fraction of a degree. Very handy. - The 'override' function, which temporarily sets the temperature to higher or lower than what you had auto-programmed it to. ie, if you have company and they're perpetually cold, just hit the up button a few times to set the temperature higher. The override temperature will disable when you either, a) turn the temperature down again, b) when the next programmed time/temperature occurs. So if you forget that you had raised the temperature, but have it set to be turned down to a specific temperature at 9pm, at 9pm your override would be moot and the unit would return to it's normal programming. That's really all I need and use. It's been great.

My Honeywell stat was cycling my furnace much too often despite being in the very center of my house. This is because all the box store stats maintain the the setpoint to within 0.5 deg with no way to change the deadband. All this cycling was thrashing my furnace unnecessarily. I'm in HVAC and was considering installing a commercial programmable thermostat which have many advanced configurable parameters, but this stat was reasonably priced, simple to program and offered all the features I was looking for. I set the variable swing (deadband) to 1.5 deg which cycles my furnace half as much though it does run a few minutes longer each time because the temp is allowed to drop 1.5 below setpoint before calling on the furnace and shuts off the furnace 1.5 deg above setpoint. At night when my program drops the setpoint to 19 deg while I sleep my furnace runs even less which helps reduce wear and tear and my overall gas and power bills even more. Would like a bigger and brighter display but it's adequate.

I had purchased a Honeywell programmable thermostat last summer. It worked great for air conditioning,but when it got cold my furnace would start up very shortly after it had turned off. Having an electric furnace, it was costing me a fortune. I did some research, and found out that my Honeywell thermostat had almost no temperature swing, so I looked for one that had lots. I purchased the LuxPro thermostat, which has up to 9 different settings (from .25 to 2.25 degrees F) I have been using setting setting # 4 which is +/- 1 degree F, and I am very happy with the LuxPro thermostat. I live in Winnipeg, where it gets pretty cold,and I can't understand why they even sell honeywell thermostats here. They are not recommended for use in cold climates.

I'm in a unique situation, running my pellet stove off of a programmable thermostat. I bought a Honeywell, but returned it due to lack of swing setting. I picked up this Luxpro model, and with the swing setting at 9, I can set the thermostat to 67 and it will run until it just hits 70, and then it will shut down until it just hits 64, and kick back on to 70. It's PERFECT. It's made my pellet stove so much more efficient. Highly recommended for anyone in a similar situation. I've read about problems with other Lux units failing when the batteries need to be replaced, so I'm hoping the Pro version will avoid that.
