Works great for a 12v lithium battery swap in a car
I use this diode to create a voltage drop of about 0.5V to 1.1V both ways. The lithium battery bms doesn't allow charging over 14.7v, and cuts off the battery. The car charger doesn't know its charging a lithium battery, so it charges it at the full 14.7V. Using one forward, and one reverse diode in parallel on the positive terminal, I guarantee that the bms doesn't cut off, the battery gets charged at a lower voltage (not to 100% where longevity is affected). At the same time, the car I use is a hybrid, so the battery only provides up to 50 amps to the car. The diodes seem to handle it just fine. The charging current is between 5 and 15 amps. The car doesn't even realize the battery chemistry is changed, and it works flawless.

Used these in place of a Generator Cutout Relay.
Kid at the parts house did not know what a generator was let alone the cutout relay. Anyway most cars prior to 1962 have a cutout relay to keep the battery from burning down the generator. The cutout relay provides this protection until it fails. Then you get to burn stuff up! Putting this diode in series or in place of the Cutout Relay prevents this problem from ever happening. Since it will be operating without a heatsink it is advisable to have a little extra capacity. These do the job nicely just be sure you get the polarity correct.

They work
I used these to replace blown out press in diodes (that are apparently not made anymore) in a battery charger that I received for free. Now it charges just like new. Only needed 2 but got a bag full for any future needs.

Great for solar isolation
I have several different kind of solar panels. Putting a steering diode in the lead will keep from back feeding a solar panel with lower voltage.
